Abstract: A pivotally-leveraged manual centrifugal drive according to a preferred embodiment of the invention for use with a bowl and a basket formed to nest within the bowl, comprising: a) a housing formed to mate with the bowl; b) a rotation wheel rotatably connected to the housing, formed to mate with the basket, and having a plane of rotation; c) a handle pivotally attached to the housing and oriented to move in a plane that is substantially perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the rotation wheel; and d) gears connecting the handle to the rotation wheel. Also disclosed are an automatic clutch that engages the rotation wheel only when the handle is moved in one direction, and a braking mechanism that includes a disk having a diameter substantially smaller than the rotation wheel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pusher for feeding items through an opening such as in a food processing device in which the opening has an annular top surface and communicates with a port space adjacent a second surface, and in which the opening, annular top surface, and port space can be moved together with respect to the second surface. The pusher comprises a lip that is substantially inflexible and shaped to rotatably mate with the annular top surface on a low-friction surface, and it comprises a flexible mitten connected to the lip and having a finger space that terminates in a fingers-tip and a thumb space that terminates in a thumb-tip.

Abstract: An adjustable measuring scoop including a partition that is movable so as to result in a scoop size that can be selectively determined between a maximum and a minimum by ready manual manipulation of the scoop. Part of the perimeter of the movable partition may include a lip (which may further include a flange and/or a seal) that is preferably configured and formed of suitable materials so as to permit for the containment of fine powders, liquids, etc. The movable partition may also include a depression formed on its upper surface for the convenient temporary holding of materials.
