  • Patent number: 11241554
Abstract: A device for providing a known concentration of blended air and oxygen, or oxygen, to an individual which incorporates a face mask inside a hood, thereby preventing aerosolization of potentially harmful exhaled gases and controlling condensation issues within the hood while under pressurized conditions. The air tight seal required to allow placement and removal of the hood on the individual will be manufactured using injection molded elastomers to over-mold injection molded rigid plastic components.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6939500
Abstract: Method and apparatus for molding a sealing surface of revolution on a molded part in first and second partable mold halves that mate at a major parting line plane. First and second mold inserts each have a sub-insert trim wheel component shaped to mold form the sealing surface of revolution when closed at a minor parting line plane. The sub-inserts are rotatable between a position flush with the major parting line plane and a starting position angularly offset therefrom. The mold cavity is filled with liquid molding material that is allowed to harden to at least a self-sustaining solidification strength. The sub-inserts are then rotated to thereby move any minor parting line flash toward a position angularly offset from their starting position. This rotation causes any parting line flash that might otherwise remain on the sealing surface to be removed from attachment to, and/or smeared smooth along, such surface.

  • Patent number: 6549098
Abstract: An improved filter assembly module comprising an open-ended cylindrical housing containing a spindle chassis with a base radially centering the chassis in the housing. Three spindle, rods extending from the base and three sets of three cylindrical spool-wound capacitors are spindle-mounted one set on each rod. A position stabilizer mounted on the upper ends of spindle rods makes stabilizing contact with the housing inner wall. An inductance coil and core is held beneath the base by a plurality of short rods protruding from the base and by a retainer snap-fastened on the rod ends. A housing bottom cover encloses the inductance coil, short rods and retainer, and a cap closes the housing top end. Electrical circuit connectors electrically couple the capacitors, inductance coil and ground and provide output signal leads for coupling to an associated meter or the like.

  • Patent number: 6409193
Abstract: A vehicle running board step construction and method of making and mounting the same on a hollow metal support pipe having a step portion and in turn adapted in vehicle-mounted orientation to extend generally adjacent a sill of a vehicle door. An upwardly facing exterior surface of the pipe step portion has an elongate mounting opening. The step construction includes a support plate having a plurality of transverse trusses arranged in spaced apart relation in a longitudinally extending row and adapted to straddle the pipe opening side edges and rest thereon for support. A plurality of spacer webs are individually interposed between and joined to longitudinally adjacent pairs of the trusses and support at each of their longitudinally opposite ends a resilient spring finger catch adapted to underlie an associated one of the pipe opening side edges. Each finger catch has a free end adapted to resiliently engage an interior surface of the pipe for holding the step plate against upward release from the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20010017452
Abstract: An improved vehicle running board construction and method of making same comprising a hollow metal support pipe with an elongated mid-section step portion adapted in vehicle-mounted orientation to extend generally parallel to and adjacent a sill of a vehicle door that provides access to a passenger or freight compartment of the vehicle. An elongate mounting opening is formed in an upwardly facing exterior surface area of the pipe mid-section. A support plate has a plurality of transverse trusses arranged in spaced apart relation in a longitudinally extending row and straddling the opening side edges and resting thereon for support. A plurality of spacer webs are individually interposed between and joined to longitudinally adjacent pairs of the trusses and support at each of their longitudinally opposite ends, a resilient spring finger catch oriented to underlie an associated one of the pipe opening side edges.

  • Patent number: 6145170
Abstract: A fastener bead removably affixed to a flexible tension element of a cargo holder and used by removably inserting the bead in the wider portion of a keyhole-type slot in a support structure. The bead in use is trapped and held by the margin of the narrow portion of the keyhole slot. The bead has a through-passageway with axially opposite loop-entrance and loop-exit ends thereof located respectively at first and second opposite end surfaces of the bead. In one bead embodiment an external groove in a bead first side surface is sized for retaining a portion of each two runs of a free-end loop of the tension element disposed in side-by-side contacting relationship after exiting the passageway and lead in the groove toward engagement with trailing portions of the runs that trail back out the entrance end of the passageway as they extend back toward cargo holder attachment.
