  • Patent number: 8910234
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enforcing a network device provisioning policy. In one embodiment, a method may employ a computer based system to restrict access to data center resources, receive provisioning requests for access to the data center resources, authorize the provisioning requests after compliance with the network provisioning policy and allow the network device to access authorized data center resources. In another embodiment, a system includes interfaces for provisioning policy, request and task status information. The information provided by these interfaces is then used to determine compliance with applicable network device provisioning policies and restrict or allow access to the data center resources according to the provisioning policy.

  • Patent number: 8880907
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically determining certain physical characteristics of a network device. In one embodiment, a method is employed to automatically determine the physical location of a network device. This method may employ a computer based system to acquire network device information, instruct the network devices to change power consumption, detect the changes and determine the physical location of the network device based on the changes detected. In another embodiment, a method is employed to automatically determine the functional type of a network device. This method may employ a computer based system to monitor the power drawn by the network device at a power distribution device and determine the network device functional type based on the power drawn.

  • Publication number: 20110004504
Abstract: Systems and methods taught herein provide an objective scoring mechanism based at least in part on a brand reputation of an organization owning a web page. In one aspect, brand reputation information is used to assign a score to a web page indicating the page's trustworthiness. Thus, rather than determining trustworthiness only from the intrinsic content of the web page, or from extrinsic relationships between web pages, a user may be provided with an indication of trustworthiness from at least one brand reputation metric of the organization that makes the web page available.

  • Publication number: 20060168191
Abstract: A computer program product is for use with a computer that includes a communication interface for sending and receiving information over a communication network and that is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) that monitors and supplies information regarding power status associated with the UPS. The computer program product resides on a computer-readable medium and includes computer-executable instructions for causing the computer to process data received from the UPS to which the computer is coupled to produce indicia of changes in power status associated with the UPS, provide the indicia of changes in power status associated with the UPS to the communication interface destined for a remote device, and provide geographic information associated with the indicia of changes in power status that indicates a geographic location associated with the UPS.
