  • Patent number: 5165364
Abstract: A bird feeder apparatus comprising a wheel having a substantially horizontal axis of rotation about which the wheel is mounted for free rotation in an upright plane; bird feeder tray structure carried by the wheel to pivot relative thereto at multiple locations about the axis; whereby the bird feed in the tray structure remains presented upwardly as the wheel rotates in response to bird weight application to the tray structure.

  • Patent number: 5121956
Abstract: A tong apparatus having first and second hand grippable members, a first work gripping element associated with the first hand grippable member, and a second work gripping element associated with the second hand grippable member, the improvement comprising structure for amplifying movement of the first work gripping element relative to movement of the second work gripping element and also relative to the first hand grippable member, in response to relative movement of the first and second hand grippable members. Amplification of motion of the work gripping elements is provided, aiding in pick-up of both large and small work pieces. The surfaces for the operator to grasp are long enough that two hands may conveniently be used, if required, for heavy loads.

  • Patent number: 4844051
Abstract: A wood burning air augmented stove for reclaiming heat from the discharge gases employing a plurality of spaced catalytic combustors, one combustor being detachably mounted on the edge of a smoke baffle, and another combustor being positioned in a portion of the chimney flue which may be selectively moved from a gas intercepting position to a gas bypassing position. The catalytic combustors are so arranged that if one combustor is overheated, the second combustor will provide the additional gas heating and cleansing function needed. These combustors act in series to magnify temperature and heat increases.

  • Patent number: 4345685
Abstract: A chain driven flexible belt conveyor for carrying solid materials around corners avoiding the use of edge guiding rollers.

  • Patent number: 4336836
Abstract: An apparatus for reclaiming heat from the discharge gas from a combustion fuel heating unit, which has: inlet and outlet sections; an expansion section whose circumference gradually increases in the direction of flow, thereby providing an increased area for heat transfer; flow splitter plates which lie within and act in conjunction with the expansion section wall to form flow compartments, which flow splitter plates and expansion section wall have a slope, with respect to the centroidal axis of the flow compartment not exceeding 0.1228, which geometry prevents a separation of the flow from the enclosing walls, thereby increasing heat transfer and maintaining the drafting function; and a reduction section which converges the flow to the outlet section.

  • Patent number: 4308019
Abstract: An improved drag chain sprocket comprising two spaced-apart discs on a hub with removable teeth bolted to the discs. The open design of the sprocket prevents build-up of abrasive materials between the sprocket and the chain. The mounting position of the teeth may be altered to utilize unworn surfaces, thereby extending the working life of the sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4187943
Abstract: Drag type feed chains employing links interconnecting one with the other at positions sufficiently above the center lines of the links to increase the strength of the associated abrasion dragging surfaces of the links.
