  • Patent number: 11920499
Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes: a fan rotating about an engine main axis; a core duct; an engine core; an Engine Section Stator (ESS) including a plurality of ESS vanes and arranged in the core duct downstream of the fan; and a plurality of variable inlet guide vanes (VIGV) adapted to rotate about a pivot axis and arranged in the core duct downstream of the ESS. The VIGV vanes are arranged angularly rotated with respect to the ESS vanes such that the VIGVs are shielded by the ESS, thereby protecting the VIGVs from icing and from ice shedding from the ESS vanes.

  • Patent number: 10127585
Abstract: A method and system that uses interactive wine lists and consumer driven advertising to increase search engine rankings for restaurants and wines through social media websites. A user may automatically display an interactive wine list having a graphical interface or “skin” that is unique to a restaurant through a single mobile application by entering the restaurant information or by using geolocation to determine the restaurant at which the electronic device is located. A unique badge system promotes wines on the interactive wine list to increases wine sales from vendors. In addition, tracking allows all user actions and information entered into the interactive wine list to be used for marketing data and for bounce back marketing.

  • Patent number: 4704872
Abstract: A thermally controlled T/R module test apparatus utilizing a multi-stage thermoelectric cooling module to maintain a T/R module at predetemined temperature during test measurements. The thermoelectric cooling module provides a cooling capacity of 9 watts and a temperature differential of 80.degree. centigrade which allows the T/R module to be thermally cycled during the test measurements.

  • Patent number: 4682176
Abstract: A transmit/receive module is disclosed that provides selectable impedance matching between: a power amplifier and the antenna of a phased array when the radar is transmitting, and selectable impedance matching between the antenna and a low noise amplifier when the radar is receiving. The transmit/receive module replaces the conventional fixed impedance matching system with a microprocessor, a plurality of switches and sets of pairs of electrical capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Since the antenna impedance characteristics change with changes of beam angles, the microprocessor directs the switches to configure the electrical components into any one of a number of impedance matching circuits. The microprocessor selects an optimum impedance matching circuit for the power amplifier to maintain maximum power transfer for radar transmission and another optimum impedance matching circuit for the low noise amplifier for minimum noise upon radar signal reception.

  • Patent number: 4484718
Abstract: A reel for storing an elongate flexible element (such as a lay-flat hose) comprises a reel body composed of two side parts, each of which has a flange on its outer periphery. The flanges on the two parts extend away from one another and together form a guide track along which a carrying handle is slidable. The handle contains guide grooves in which the flanges are respectively received. A low friction material is provided between the flanges and the guide grooves, and may be in the form of one or more inserts.

  • Patent number: 4188036
Abstract: The invention provides a board game for two players to test their deductive abilities. The game comprises a board, a holder, a set of playing pieces, a set of marking elements, a set of scoring elements, and a word list, the board having a number of rows of playing areas which serve as test areas for a player's attempts to duplicate a hidden code word chosen by the player's opponent.

  • Patent number: 4171756
Abstract: The invention provides apparatus for scooping a number of small articles or a small quantity of particulate material from a larger reservoir thereof, the volume of the amount scooped and therefore its quantity being regulated by adjusting the capacity of the scoop. In a preferred example of the invention a number of scoops work simultaneously in separate reservoirs and eject the scoopfuls into a common outlet when they are swept to a packaging point by a swift current of air.
