A sidewall extends between the proximal end and the distal end of the rolling diaphragm along a longitudinal axis. At least a portion of one of the sidewall and the end wall has non-uniform thickness. At least a portion of the sidewall is flexible and rolls upon itself when acted upon by the plunger such that an outer surface of the sidewall at a folding region is folded in a radially inward direction as the plunger is advanced from the proximal end to the distal end of the rolling diaphragm.

    Abstract: A syringe interface between a piston and plunger is provided. The syringe interface includes a piston configured to be driven by an injector and a syringe. The plunger is slidably inserted in the syringe barrel such that the sidewall of the plunger forms a moveable seal against an inner surface of the syringe barrel. A method for filling a syringe including a suction interface between a piston and plunger, as well as a filling station including a vacuum source, such as a vacuum pump, are also provided.
