  • Patent number: 5569072
Abstract: A carcass holding fixture for transporting, locating and securely stabilizing a carcass relative to the fixture while the fixture is moving and processing operations are carried out on the carcass has a pair of hip stabilizing arms that squeeze inwardly against opposite sides of the carcass and upwardly against the hips as the carcass is clamped into processing position. When the stabilizing arms are fully closed, the carcass is clamped up against a straddle bar on the fixture. Simultaneously, a shoulder stabilizing yoke adjacent the neck portion of the carcass has raised up into firm engagement with the shoulders of the carcass to eliminate the possibility of significant movement of the trunk portion of the carcass. Once the processing operations are complete, the hip stabilizing arms swing away from the carcass and the shoulder stabilizing yoke moves to a lower position whereby to completely release the carcass and allow it to be separated from the holding fixture and moved to the next processing station.

  • Patent number: 4683616
Abstract: A stretching mechanism of a device for cutting slaughtered poultry, said mechanism being provided with a support surface for the bird, with means to hang the bird by the legs, with means to hold the wings of the bird and with means to hold the trunk on the support surface, said trunk holding means including gripper means which engage the spine of the bird. According to the invention the gripper means consist of a symmetrical centering fork and that the centering fork and the support section are guided movably in two directions relative to each other in a plane, perpendicularly to the support surface, wherein in the operative end position the centering fork engages the spine at the inside of the trunk of the bird.

  • Patent number: RE32697
Abstract: A device for cutting slaughtered poultry in separate pieces. A bird is held by at least one radial processing device which is movable on a frame by a driving device which is provided with a processing arm, at the side facing the frame being provided with an adjustment mechanism which can reorient the processing device during the movement of the arm in a number of various positions of rotation with respect to the arm and a blocking mechanism which can fix the processing device in said positions of rotation, with a deblocking mechanism for unlocking the processing device, and said processing arm at the side facing away from the frame being provided with a stretching mechanism for holding the bird.
