Abstract: A motorcycle includes: a front end subassembly including a fork, a suspension support, a shaft, an axle, and a wheel, wherein the suspension support is coupled to the fork, wherein the shaft is rigid, rectilinear, and extends from the suspension support such that the shaft is (1) parallel to the fork and (2) transverse to the axle, wherein the wheel rotates about the axle; and a seat subassembly including a passenger seat, a gas tank, and a passage, wherein the gas tank is positioned between the passenger seat and the passage, wherein the shaft extends through the passage and thereby solely couples the front end subassembly to the seat subassembly such that the front end subassembly is able to steer the seat subassembly.

Abstract: A system, computer-readable medium, and method are provided for generating images based on adaptations of the human visual system. An input image is received, an effect provoking change is received, and an afterimage resulting from a cumulative effect of human visual adaptation is computed based on the effect provoking change and a per-photoreceptor type physiological adaptation of the human visual system. The computed afterimage may include a bleaching afterimage effect and/or a local adaptation afterimage effect. The computed afterimage is then accumulated into an output image for display.

Accordingly, various embodiments are directed to a bracelet having at least a first and a second powered rail, the first rail having an electric potential lower than the second the rail such that a potential difference exists between the rails. In an embodiment, the first and second rails exists form an open circuit that may be closed by attaching one or more charms.

Abstract: A method of upsetting an axle with a peen tool according to one example of the present disclosure includes contacting a distal end surface of the peen tool with a first terminal end of the axle. The distal end surface of the peen tool has a relief portion formed on the distal end surface that includes a concave profile. An area of the axle is displaced based on the contacting.

Abstract: A system, computer-readable medium, and method are provided for generating images based on adaptations of the human visual system. An input image is received, an effect provoking change is received, and an afterimage resulting from a cumulative effect of human visual adaptation is computed based on the effect provoking change and a per-photoreceptor type physiological adaptation of the human visual system. The computed afterimage may include a bleaching afterimage effect and/or a local adaptation afterimage effect. The computed afterimage is then accumulated into an output image for display.

Abstract: A system and methods for facilitating adaptive grid-based document layout. More particularly, the adaptive grid-based document layout system and methods feature a new approach to adaptive grid-based document layout that utilizes a set of adaptive templates that are configurable in a range of different pages sizes and viewing conditions. The templates include various element types and constraint-based relationships that define the layout of elements with reference to viewing conditions under which the document content will be displayed and that define other content properties. Through a layout engine and paginator, the adaptive grid-based document layout system and methods determines a desirable sequence of templates to use for adapting document content. Additionally, the adaptive grid-based document layout system and methods provides a template authoring tool and user interface for interactively drawing and arranging layout elements within an adaptive template.

The method also includes an act of providing data to the user for display on a display screen of a computing apparatus, wherein the data is provided based at least in part upon a statistical analysis undertaken with respect to structured data pertaining to the particular domain, wherein the structured data is based at least in part upon data included in the plurality of documents.

Abstract: Described is a technology by which a user pastes selected data into a command line of a program, including when the selected data is non-textual. Upon detecting the paste (or drop) action, a variable name is automatically generated and inserted at the current point in a command line, where it acts as a proxy for the pasted data itself. A data structure comprising the selected data or transformed data corresponding to that selected data is maintained in program storage, e.g., RAM allocated to the program. In one aspect, a handler may be used to transform the data from one format into another that may be used by a particular program. For example, text may be reformatted into an array on which the program operates. The handler may be selected from a plurality of possible handlers, including customized handlers.

Abstract: A back for a patient chair with which a patient may be moved from a generally upright sitting position to a generally supine position comprises a back shell and a cushion. The back shell has a front surface, a back surface, a top, a bottom, opposed first and second outer sides, a central section extending longitudinally from a region adjacent the top to a region adjacent the bottom and opposed side sections extending laterally outwardly from the central section toward the first and second outer sides. The cushion is attached to the back shell. The central section of the back shell comprises a plurality of stiffening elements that extend longitudinally of the back shell. A patient chair including the back is also described.

A composition of the invention includes stored red blood cells and a hemoglobin solution.

Abstract: A back for a patient chair having a back shell with a substantially rigid central S-shaped central portion and laterally extending wing portions which have sufficient flexibility to allow deflection in the direction of the front surface upon imposition of a force. The back consists of a formed back shell, a cushion layer laid thereover and an upholstery layer covering the cushion, with the upholstery layer adhered to the cushion and having edge margins wrapped around the outer edge margins of the cushion. The cushion and upholstery material are secured to the back shell through adhesive applied between the wrapped over edge margin portions of the upholstery material and the back shell.

Abstract: A portable wheel assembly for use with bicycles and other wheeled vehicles. The wheel assembly comprises a centrally positioned hub which is adapted for rotatable movement about an axis. A plurality of pie shaped disk segments are coupled together along their radial side edges to form a circular support disk with a central opening. Each disk segment is adapted to removably couple with the hub at its innermost radial edge and extends radially outwardly to form a portion of a circular rim at its outermost radial edge. The rim is adapted for supporting a tire. The tire comprises a non-pneumatic tire with an annular ridge which is adapted to couple with the circular rim formed by the disk. During assembly, each of the pie shaped disk segments is coupled together and then coupled to the hub assembly at the inside radial edge or central opening. As the disk segments are coupled to the hub, the tire is assembled onto the outer radial edge or rim.

Abstract: The safety hinge is proposed for use to eliminate pinching of fingers in the area between a door frame and the hinge edge of a door panel. The hinge comprises interlocking hinge sections each including mounting flange, an arm extending perpendicularly from said flange and terminating in a pivot element by means of which the hinge sections join together to form the hinge. The safety hinge is used in a safety door assembly which further includes a resilient end cap secured to the swing edge of the door panel and structure for latching the door in a closed position thereof as well as structure for keeping the door panel from swinging through the door frame.
