  • Publication number: 20220199758
Abstract: Capacitors with a carbon-based electrode layer in contact with a ferroelectric insulator. The insulator may be a perovskite oxide. Low reactivity of the carbon-based electrode may improve stability of a ferroelectric capacitor. A carbon-based electrode layer may be predominantly carbon and have a low electrical resistivity. A carbon-based electrode layer may be the only layer of an electrode, or it may be a barrier between the insulator and another electrode layer. Both electrodes of a capacitor may include a carbon-based electrode layer, or a carbon-based electrode layer may be included in only one electrode.

  • Patent number: 10480209
Abstract: The invention addressed in this application is non-injurious restraint type form of fencing designed to be used a perimeter or security fence. The fence is constructed of hollow polymer tubes arranged in horizontal rows affixed to a vertical post. The hollow tubular horizontal fence rails contain fibers that are coated with a moisture cured adhesives and the fibers are secured at one end to the end cap of the tubes. The tubes are sealed and slightly pressurized with a dry inert gas, so that upon breakage of the tubes by a person attempting to scale the fence, the fibers are expelled out of the tubes and entangle the would be climber. The tubes are constructed of a brittle material, like polystyrene, or material which will become brittle upon treatment with ultra violet (UV) radiation or heat.

  • Publication number: 20190016982
Abstract: A motor fuel comprising gasoline comprising 70-99 wt % gasoline and 1 to 30 wt % of mesitylene. This fuel can advantageously contain conventional additives used in gasoline. The use of mesitylene in gasoline blend yields a fuel blend with a higher research octane number and motor octane number. In addition, an improved jet fuel is provided, having from 1-10 wt % mesitylene added to the jet fuel, having improved carbon emission characteristics while maintaining required specifications. Further, an improved bio-fuel is provided, which may function as a replacement for conventional Jet A/JP-8 fuel and has lowered carbon emission specifications, the bio-fuel comprised of 75-90 wt % synthetic parafinnic kerosene (SPK) and 10-25 wt % mesitylene.

  • Publication number: 20170314537
Abstract: A system and method for adding oil to the gearbox of a water pump windmill includes a tubular head lift rod in the gearbox attached to a tubular tower lift rod. Pressurized oil introduced into the tower lift rod flows through an interior passageway in the tower lift rod, to an interior passageway in the head lift rod, and out an oil dispersion aperture in the head lift rod and into the gearbox. The system allows a user to add oil to a windmill gearbox located at the top of a windmill tower from ground level by propelling the oil through the tower lift rod and head lift rod. Also disclosed is an accompanying method.

  • Publication number: 20140242722
Abstract: An article is provided for the detection of a drug in a liquid medium. The article includes a polymer having pores specifically imprinted to provide for capture of a drug in the pores, nanoparticles, and photochromic optical switch molecules. Capture of the drug in the pores of the polymer results in a change in the spatial relation of the nanoparticles in the polymer, causing the photochromic optical switch molecules to undergo a change in energy state which corresponds to a change in spectra of the photochromic optical switch molecules, thereby providing for detection of the drug.

  • Patent number: 8387405
Abstract: A refrigerator is adapted to include a plurality of ultraviolet light bars, which may be adjustably connected to sufficiently radiate UV light throughout the refrigerator compartment in connection with a control box and power cord which operate to control the bacterial level present on and around foodstuffs being stored therein. A series of UV light bars are capable of being arranged and plugged into one another by daisy chain to allow for a timer-controlled illumination of UV light to radiate throughout the compartment. Sensors in the control box signal the timer, and a wire ribbon extending from the control box provides a connection to the external power source without significantly affecting the seal of the refrigerator door.

  • Patent number: 8016170
Abstract: A garment hanger has a pair of clamping members. Each clamping member comprises a pair of planer end sections and a central curved section attached to the pair of planer end members. The pair of end sections of a first clamping member will touch a corresponding pair of end sections of a second clamping member and the central curved section of the first and second clamping members form an elongated oval when the pair of clamping members is placed together in a closed position. A locking device is attached to the central curved section of the first and second clamping members. The locking device secures the pair of clamping members together. When pressure is applied to the locking device, the locking device forces opens and separates the pair of clamping members. A hook assembly is attached to the locking device.
