  • Patent number: 10071833
Abstract: Tear-open pouches having a first panel and a second panel sealed to one another at a non-peelable or peelable perimeter seal defining a compartment having a first compartment area of the first panel and a second compartment area of the second panel with a score disposed on the first panel extending from a first position in the perimeter seal along a first direction that extends across the first panel and into the first compartment area. An optional second score can be disposed on the first or second panel and extend from a second position in the perimeter seal along a second direction that extends across the first or second panel and into the first or second compartment area and the second position can be adjacent to the first position, and the first and second directions can be divergent to one another.

  • Patent number: 7422782
Abstract: The present invention describes a multilayer film suitable for use in packaging applications comprising at least a polymeric first layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface wherein the polymeric first layer comprises a heat-sealable, water-insoluble polyester; a polymeric second layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface and comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive, wherein the second surface of the polymeric second layer is in contact with the first surface of the polymeric first layer and forms a peelable/resealable bond therebetween; and a third layer in contact with the first surface of the polymeric second layer.

  • Patent number: 7017774
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pre-formed food packaging article, and method of manufacturing the same, useful in the packaging of individual food portions comprising a planar member having an upper surface and a lower surface, said planar member having a detachable utensil formed integrally in said planar member; and, said planar member having a sanitary membrane affixed to the lower surface covering and protecting the bottom of the utensil from contamination. The sanitary membrane of the present invention protects the lower surface of the integrally formed utensil, while a sealing film or lid protects the upper surface of the utensil, thus providing a food packaging article with a convenient, sanitary utensil for the consumer.
