  • Patent number: 5974943
Abstract: A fluid valve system is provided for a variable stroke motor. The valve has a housing forming a cylinder, a first fluid input into the cylinder, a first fluid output out of the cylinder, a second fluid input into the cylinder, and a second fluid output out of the cylinder. Provided within the cylinder is a shaft provided with slots. As the shaft rotates into a first position, fluid communication between the first fluid input and the first fluid output is shut off, while fluid communication between the second fluid input and second fluid output is opened. As the shaft rotates to a second position, communication between the first fluid input and first fluid output is opened, while the communication between the second fluid input and the second fluid output is shut off. The device is preferably hooked up to a drive cylinder in fluid communication with the first fluid output and the second fluid input. A piston is provided within the drive cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5967016
Abstract: A drive shaft assembly is provided for allowing rotation of a drive shaft in a single direction. The drive shaft assembly includes a housing, a drive shaft and an overrunning clutch. The overrunning clutch includes an inner race having an outer annular contact surface and an outer race having an inner annular contact surface spaced radially from the inner race. The inner annular contact surface and the outer annular contact surface form an annular space therebetween. Provided within this annular space are a plurality of sprags which allow the inner race to rotate in a first direction relative to the outer race while preventing the inner race from rotating in a second direction to the outer race.

  • Patent number: 5461863
Abstract: Multiple steam powered cylinders reciprocate to pivot arms back and forth connected to output drive shafts through one way clutches with the output drive shafts being interconnected through gears such that when one shaft is powered, the other is coasting. The inlet and outlet valves for each cylinder chamber are controlled by an actuator which instantaneously snaps the valves between open and closed positions. The power cylinders may be operated individually, in parallel or in series and as required, a valve passageway through the piston may be operated to equalize pressure. A pair of O-rings on the piston engage the cylinder wall only when the adjacent chamber is pressurized, thereby reducing drag in operation of the piston.

  • Patent number: 5381760
Abstract: High pressure air on the order of 3,000 PSI is injected into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine during only the combustion cycle of engine operation to increase its horsepower and torque. The injection of air is triggered by the combustion chamber pressure reaching a predetermined level which causes a check valve to be opened thereby providing communication from an air source to the combustion chamber. When the combustion chamber pressure drops to a predetermined level, spring biased pressure combined with air injection pressure will exceed combustion pressure and cause the ball valve to return to its closed position. The cycle will be repeated during each combustion cycle of operation of a multiple cycle engine.

  • Patent number: 4331116
Abstract: A fuel system for an internal combustion engine and comprising a housing having a first chamber of cylindrical cross-sectional configuration with an upper air inlet port open to an air door and a lower outlet port connected to the engine intake manifold, a cylindrical spool rotatably positioned in the first chamber and having opposed openings which align with the inlet and outlet ports when the spool is in a full open position, a second chamber provided in the housing open to the heat of the engine exhaust system and separated from the first chamber by a partition, a fuel heating envelope secured within the second chamber whereby the heat of the exhaust system surrounds the envelope for heating the interior thereof, a fuel jet extending into the fuel envelope for admitting a fuel thereto, a bleed air passageway provided in the housing for directing air from the exterior thereof to the interior of the fuel envelope, a fuel nozzle secured through the wall and having one end open to the interior of the fuel heat
