The through hole via includes top and bottom sections plated with a conductive plating material, and a middle section without any conductive plating material. The screw in physical communication with the top, middle, and bottom sections of the through hole via in the printed circuit board. The processor determines whether an electrical circuit is formed between the screw, the top section of the through hole via, and the bottom section of the through hole via. Based on the determination of the electrical circuit being formed, the processor provides an indication that no intrusion has been made into the information handling system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2022Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Yong-Teng Lin, Bradford Edward Vier, Chun-Kai Tzeng, Chin-Yao Hsu, Yu-Lin Tsai

Patent number: 10754895Abstract: A method for reducing I/O performance impacts associated with a data commit operation is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes periodically performing a data commit operation wherein modified data is destaged from cache to persistent storage drives. Upon performing a particular instance of the data commit operation, the method determines whether modified data in the cache is a metadata track. In the event the modified data is a metadata track, the method attempts to acquire an exclusive lock on the metadata track. In the event the exclusive lock cannot be acquired, the method skips over the metadata track without destaging the metadata track for the particular instance of the data commit operation. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2018Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Lokesh M. Gupta, Edward Lin, Kyler A. Anderson, Matthew G. Borlick, Kevin J. Ash

Publication number: 20200174773Abstract: A method for updating code in a set of machines is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes receiving a time range within which a code update is to be performed on a set of machines, block out times indicating when the code update cannot be performed, and an order in which the code update is to be performed on the set of machines. For some time period before the code update is performed, the method gathers I/O statistics associated with the set of machines. The method then performs the code update on the set of machines during a period of reduced I/O as determined from the I/O statistics, while complying with the received time range, block out times, and order. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2018Publication date: June 4, 2020Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Matthew G. Patent number: 8352265Abstract: A hardware implemented backend search stage, or engine, for a speech recognition system is provided. In one embodiment, the backend search engine includes a number of pipelined stages including a fetch stage, an updating stage which may be a Viterbi stage, a transition and prune stage, and a language model stage. Each active triphone of each active word is represented by a corresponding triphone model. By being pipelined, the stages of the backend search engine are enabled to simultaneously process different triphone models, thereby providing high-rate backend searching for the speech recognition system. In one embodiment, caches may be used to cache frequently and/or recently accessed triphone information utilized by the fetch stage, frequently and/or recently accessed triphone-to-senone mappings utilized by the updating stage, or both.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2008Date of Patent: January 8, 2013Inventors: Edward Lin, Rob A.
