Patent number: 11741820Abstract: A method implemented by a system for security comprising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and an analytics device configured to communicate with a remote monitoring system and the UAV is provided. Media data from the UAV is received at an analytics device, where the media data includes surveillance information corresponding to a premises under surveillance. Security attributes associated with the premises are detected based at least in part on a first level of machine learning (ML) analysis performed on the media data. The media data are transmitted by the analytics device to the remote monitoring system for a second level of ML analysis based at least in part on the security attribute, where the first level of ML analysis is less computationally expensive compared to the second level of ML analysis, and the second level of ML analysis is performed at the remote monitoring system on the media data.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2022Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: The ADT Security CorporationInventors: Edward M. Patent number: 10026302Abstract: A method of responding to alarm includes receiving an alarm message from an alarm system at a site. The alarm message may indicate that an alarm has been triggered at the site. In response to receiving the alarm message, a responder may be identified to respond to the alarm. A call message may be automatically sent over a network to a mobile alarm device in the possession of the responder. A message may be received back from the mobile alarm device accepting the call message for the alarm. In some embodiments, the responder's response to the alarm (for example, time to arrive at the alarm, time to clear the alarm) is automatically timed and monitored based on messages received from the responder over the mobile alarm device.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: July 17, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Edward M. Bacco, Katrin Korten

Patent number: 9767428Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of systems, methods, and computer programs that facilitate verification of activity in an environment of predefined activity orchestration. Activity is captured on image capture devices in the environment of predefined activity orchestration. The activity is verified to be consistent with the predefined activity orchestration. An event is generated based upon whether the activity is consistent with the predefined activity orchestration.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2012Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Edward M. Bacco, David K. Hiatt

Publication number: 20170109950Abstract: A security system is provided that integrates physical and logical security controls for the protection of secured resources. The resources may include physical locations and/or computing resources such as databases containing personal information. In some embodiments, information is stored in separate, codependent databases such that by isolating the components of the databases from each other, a successful attack on one component is not sufficient to enable the access of content of the other components. In some embodiments, biometric information is automatically obtained as users approach an access location, and is ready for expedited verification of identity upon request by the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2016Publication date: April 20, 2017Applicant: Secure Gravity Inc.Inventors: Edward M. Bacco, Domenic P. Prinzivalli, Anthony T. Collins

Patent number: 9167313Abstract: A method of transferring video data for storage at a remote location includes storing the video data recorded at a site to a local storage device at the site. The local storage device is coupled to a remote storage device by way of a network connection. Available bandwidth of the network connection between the local storage device and the remote storage device is automatically monitored. Upon one or more predetermined criteria being met for available bandwidth, video data from the local storage device is transferred to the remote storage device over the network connection. The time of initiation of transfer of the video data or the rate of transfer of the video data over the network connection may be based on the available bandwidth of the network connection at one or more times.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2011Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Edward M.
