Publication number: 20240059110Abstract: The present invention relates to a trailer hitch system for identifying compatible ball mounts and trailer couplers. The system is primarily comprised of a ball mount, a trailer coupler, and a method of use. The ball mount can be attached to a receiver tube of a towing vehicle. The trailer coupler can then be attached to a trailer such that a hitch ball housing of the coupler can receive a trailer ball of the ball mount. The coupler and ball mount are each comprised of an indicia that are preferably identical to indicate to a user that a ball mount is compatible with a coupler.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventor: Edward Mills

Publication number: 20230139415Abstract: A method includes displaying a user interface of a digital audio workstation, which includes a composition region for generating a composition. The composition region includes a representation of a first MIDI file that has already been added to the composition by a user. The method further includes receiving a user input to import, into the composition region, an audio file. In response to the user input to import the audio file, the method includes importing the audio file, which includes, without user intervention, aligning the audio file with a rhythm of the first MIDI file, modifying a rhythm of the audio file based on the rhythm of the first MIDI file, and displaying a representation of the audio file in the composition region.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 29, 2021Publication date: May 4, 2023Inventors: Rachel Malia BITTNER, Sebastian EWERT, Ching SUNG, David Samuel RUBINSTEIN, Joakim Christer PERSSON, Peter Milan Thomson SOBOT, Sourabh PATERIYA, George Edward MILLS

Patent number: 8305727Abstract: A joint on an aircraft, the joint comprising: a first component; a second component joined to the first component; and a bonding lead which forms an electrical connection between the components with a resistance between 100 k? and 10 M?. Surprisingly, it has been found that a bonding lead with a relatively high resistance can be used without seriously compromising the static discharge performance of the bonding lead, and that the resulting comparatively low flow of current reduces the risk of sparking in the event of an lightning strike. Bonding leads may be provided as a kit of parts in which at least two of the bonding leads have different lengths and the longer lead is formed from a material having a higher bulk conductivity than the shorter lead. Thus the bonding leads can be made with approximately similar resistances regardless of their lengths.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2010Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Airbus Operations LimitedInventors: Colin John West, David Alistair Sutton, Robert Bernard Malia, Richard Edward Mills, Alan Donald Pout

Publication number: 20050246049Abstract: The present invention relates generally to an automated manufacturing system and method for manufacturing photomasks wherein information provided by a customer at a remote location is interfaced, via a network, to a photomask manufacturer's computer system and automatically processes data for manufacturing a photomask and automatically formats and routes data to processing equipment. The present invention reduces the need for manual intervention, thereby avoiding costly delays and transcription errors associated therewith. The software of the present invention provides for automatic generation of data arrays, which can be used to process and monitor the status of a photomask during manufacture. Further, the software is capable of automatically modifying design data provided by a photomask user. Additionally, the software of the present invention includes an automatic messaging system which can notify users of the system, of status and errors in manufacture of photomasks.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2005Publication date: November 3, 2005Inventors: Edward Suttile, Charles Croke, James Morrison, Ryan Vo, Peter Jones, Mary Spano, Edward Mills

Patent number: 5444587Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for attaching magnetic disk drive actuator arms to read/write head suspension members. The arms and suspensions have through holes. The suspension member has a boss on its surface surrounding its through hole. To attach a suspension to an actuator arm, the hole in the arm is brought into alignment with the hole in the suspension such that the boss on the suspension protrudes into the hole in the arm. An expandable pin is inserted into the boss and holes. The expandable pin is then forced to expand radially, causing the boss to expand into an interference with the hole in the actuator arm, thus attaching the suspension and the arm. Because the forces applied to the actuator arm are limited to being axially applied to the walls of the hole, cracking of the actuator arm is avoided. Thus, actuator assemblies with ceramic actuators are provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1994Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Quantum CorporationInventors: Ernest V. Johnson, Allen R. Patent number: 4898012Abstract: A rolling mill for rolling strip in which one of its rolls serves both as a mill roll and as a gauge and/or profile measuring roll. The one roll has an outer sleeve for deflection under the rolling force and an internal stationary member for carrying a number of axially supported sensors for measuring the deflection of the sleeve and the rolling force to which the sleeve is subject, and control means for receiving signals from the sensors to produce a signal representative of the gauge and/or profile of the strip as it is being rolled in the roll bite of the mill.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1988Date of Patent: February 6, 1990Assignee: United Engineering, Inc.Inventors: George B.
