  • Patent number: 6007434
Abstract: A club head for a golf club a front surface and a rear surface and defines a front surface recess having a bounding interior wall of arcuate configuration. A member is resident at least in part in the club head recess and defines a front surface for hitting engagement with a golf ball and a rear surface secured to the interior wall of the club head and having the same arcuate configuration as the interior wall of the club head. The member front surface defines pyramid-like projections thereon and has the same arcuate configuration as the member rear surface.

  • Patent number: 5931743
Abstract: A club head for a golf club has a front surface and a rear surface and defines a frontal recess continuously perimetrically bounded by the club head front surface. A member is secured in the recess and is comprised of a material different from material constituting the club head, the member defining a front surface for hitting engagement with a golf ball.

  • Patent number: 5716290
Abstract: A golf club comprises a club shaft and a club head connected to an end portion of the club shaft, the club head having a gravimetric center and head body portions extending along mutually orthogonal axes extending through the gravimetric center. At least one of the head body portions is of different geometric configuration on respective opposite sides of the gravimetric center. The club head defines a recess extending to the gravimetric center, the recess having an axis disposed orthogonally to the mutually orthogonal axes. The club shaft end portion is disposed in the club head recess. The club head may include a member secured to an exterior surface of the club head and comprised of a material different from material constituting the club head, the member defining exterior surface for hitting engagement with a golf ball, the member exterior surface having an arcuate configuration.

  • Patent number: 5438792
Abstract: According to the present invention, an insect trap is provided which comprises: (1) a generally rectangular shaped enclosure provided with a plurality of openings therethrough, and (2) a plurality of inner partition walls positioned within the enclosure to provide a plurality of generally triangular passageways within the enclosure, the inner partition walls comprising a folded composite planar sheet having an upper and lower sheet member housing an adhesive sheet, the upper and lower sheet members having a plurality of openings therein to permit an insect passing thereon to contact an adhesive surface of the adhesive sheet and the adhesive sheet member and the upper and lower sheet members having a plurality of connecting apertures therethrough to permit insects to pass through the composite planar sheet.

  • Patent number: 4640272
Abstract: The present invention provides a springless diaphragm which is adapted to be inserted into a vaginal vault for birth control and which comprises a resilient rim member composed of a first flexible material, and a dome member which is composed of a second flexible material. The rim member is securely bonded to the dome member and extends continuously thereabout along the lower perimeter thereof. The dome member is provided in its uppermost portion with a substantially thicker portion in order to permit formation of the device without danger of rupture during the molding process. The first flexible material and the second flexible material are required to have Durometers within specified ranges, and the rim member may be further provided with opposing outwardly projecting sections in order to enhance the spring modulus of the rim member upon flexing of this portion of the diaphragm prior to insertion.

  • Patent number: 4507035
Abstract: An impact resistant assembly is provided which comprises a longitudinal, molded shaft composed of a thermoplastic material and having screw threads at one end thereof and a planar head plate at the opposite end. Adjacent to the head plate is an upper cylindrical shaft section upon which is securely positioned a metal collar, which is preferably provided with an enlarged metal rim, to support the head plate and adjacent cylindrical shaft section against substantial deformation during the subsequent molding thereon of a resilient, head member which is formed from a thermosetting material. It has been found that the combination of the planar head plate and the adjacent metal collar is essential to form the desired impact resistant assembly having the resilient, impact resistant head member molded thereon. The impact resistant assemblies of this invention are particularly suited for use in bowling alley backstops which are subjected to repeated and severe direct impacts by bowling balls of high mass.
