Publication number: 20250149470Abstract: Integrated circuits (ICs) that avoid or mitigate creation of changes in accumulated charge in a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate, particularly an SOI substrate having a trap rich layer. In one embodiment, a FET is configured such that, in a standby mode, the FET is turned OFF while maintaining essentially the same VDS as during an active mode. In another embodiment, a FET is configured such that, in a standby mode, current flow through the FET is interrupted while maintaining essentially the same VGS as during the active mode. In another embodiment, a FET is configured such that, in a standby mode, the FET is switched into a very low current state (a “trickle current” state) that keeps both VGS and VDS close to their respective active mode operational voltages. Optionally, S-contacts may be formed in an IC substrate to create protected areas that encompass FETs that are sensitive to accumulated charge effects.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2025Publication date: May 8, 2025Inventors: Robert Mark Englekirk, Keith Bargroff, Christopher C. Patent number: 12278124Abstract: A load lock in which the pumping speed is controlled so as to minimize the possibility of condensation is disclosed. The load lock is in communication with a vacuum pump and a valve. A controller is used to control the valve such that the supersaturation ratio within the load lock does not exceed a predetermined threshold, which is less than or equal to the critical value at which vapor condenses. In certain embodiments, a computer model is used to generate a profile, which may be a pumping speed profile or a pressure profile, and the valve is controlled according to the profile. In another embodiment, the load lock comprises a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor. The controller may calculate the supersaturation ratio based on these parameters and control the valve accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2021Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: D. Publication number: 20250036626Abstract: A computer-implemented method for efficiently estimating the number of unique elements in a collection of elements comprises generating, via hash logic, hash values associated with the elements. The hash values specify bit positions within an array of bits. Hash values output from the hash logic conform to a geometric distribution such that bit positions of the array of bits corresponding to lower orders bits are more likely to be generated than bit positions corresponding to higher-order bits. Bits of the array of bits corresponding to the bit positions are set. The number of bits of the array of bits that are set is counted. Estimation logic estimates the number of unique elements of the collection of elements as a function of the number of bits of the array of bits that are set.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2024Publication date: January 30, 2025Inventors: Michael Sheppard, Edward Murphy, Jonathan Sullivan
