  • Patent number: 11981299
Abstract: A tire shine application system includes a computer having at least one sensor interfaced thereto that detects and measures sizes of a tire of a vehicle as the vehicle enters a car wash. A tire shine applicator is interfaced to a three-directional movement device that is controlled by the computer. When the tire approaches the tire shine applicator, the computer controls the three-directional movement device to position the tire shine applicator to an outwardly facing wall of the tire and controls the three-directional movement device so that the tire shine applicator traverses the outwardly facing wall of the tire while tracking the tire as the tire shine applicator deposits tire shine liquid on the outwardly facing wall of the tire.

  • Publication number: 20230289679
Abstract: System and method for calibration of WFM system modeling parameters. A first mode M[D,S] of a modeler computes demand-shrinkage controlled service levels and an error metric e(M[D,S]) between the controlled and actual service levels. A user device iteratively adjusts each core parameter. When the user is satisfied that e(M[D,S]) is sufficiently small, calibration of the core parameters is complete. The same is done for calibrating the modeling factor, and then a final e(M[D,S])f is computed. A second mode M[D] computes, using the parameters just calibrated, demand-controlled service levels and an error metric e(M[D]) between the controlled service levels and actual levels. The user iteratively adjusts the shrinkage. When the user is satisfied that e(M[D]) is sufficiently small, calibration of the core parameters is complete.

  • Publication number: 20230196836
Abstract: The technology provides a computing device having a human presence sensor module. An image sensor of the human presence sensor module captures imagery, and the imagery is not disseminated outside of the human presence sensor module to another part of the computing device. One or more machine learning models, each trained to identify whether one or more persons are present in the imagery, are retrieved from memory within the human presence sensor module. The imagery received from the image sensor is processed using the one or more machine learning models to determine whether one or more persons are present in the imagery. Upon detection that one or more persons are present in the imagery, the human presence sensor module issues a signal to an operating system of the computing device so that the computing device can respond to that presence by performing one or more actions.

  • Patent number: 11674797
Abstract: Aspects of the embodiments are directed to non-contact systems, methods and devices for optical detection of objects in space at precise angles. This method involves the design and fabrication of photodiode arrays for measuring angular response using self-aligned Schottky platinum silicide (PtSi) PIN photodiodes (PN-diodes with an intrinsic layer sandwiched in between) that provide linear angular measurements from incident light in multiple dimensions. A self-aligned device is defined as one in which is not sensitive to photomask layer registrations. This design eliminates device offset between “left” and right” channels for normal incident light as compared to more conventional PIN diode constructions.
