Publication number: 20160008798Abstract: The disclosure describes a new class of isomorphously metal-substituted aluminophosphate materials with high phase purity that are capable of performing selective Brönsted acid catalyzed chemical transformations, such as transforming alcohols to olefins, with high conversions and selectivities using mild conditions. Isomorphous substitutions of functional metal ions for both the aluminum ions and the phosphorous ions were successful in various AlPO structures, along with multiple metal substitutions into a single aluminum site and/or a phosphorous site. This invention can be used towards the catalytic conversion of hydroxylated compounds of linear and/or branched moiety with the possibility of being substituted to their respective hydrocarbon products, preferably light olefins containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms, among other chemistries.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Applicant: SIGNA CHEMISTRY, INC.Inventors: Michael LEFENFELD, Robert RAJA, Alexander James PATERSON, Matthew Edward POTTER

Patent number: 8593338Abstract: A new approach to radar imaging is described herein, in which radar pulses are transmitted with an uneven sampling scheme and subsequently processed with novel algorithms to produce images of equivalent resolution and quality as standard images produced using standard synthetic aperture radar (SAR) waveforms and processing techniques. The radar data collected with these waveforms can be used to create many other useful products such as moving target indication (MTI) and high resolution terrain information (HRTI). The waveform and the correction algorithms described herein allow the algorithms of these other radar products to take advantage of the quality Doppler resolution.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2013Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Areté AssociatesInventors: Jeremy Francis Burri, Michael Howard Farris, Matthew Michael Pohlman, Randall Edward Potter

Patent number: 4150790Abstract: A reinforced railroad crosstie formed by molding and bonding comminuted lignocellulosic material into a monolithic beam around a plurality of reinforcing rods, each of which has a plurality of spaced protrusions fixedly attached along its length at specific positions relative to the midpoint of the tie and the rails mounted thereon. The reinforcing rods are positioned within the crosstie proximate lines of maximum tensile stresses expected to be induced into the tie by different bending influences caused by passing trains and varying conditions of the underlying ballast. The protrusions are configured and spaced in pairs on either side of respective points of maximum expected stress to ensure maximum transfer of each stress from the lignocellulosic material to the rods. The rods are also positioned within the crosstie so as to avoid contact with the spikes employed to fasten the rail to the tie.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1975Date of Patent: April 24, 1979Assignees: Edward Potter, Dant & Russell, Inc.Inventor: Edward Potter
