  • Publication number: 20230173172
Abstract: A fluid injector system configured for use in administering at least one fluid to a patient, the fluid injector system including at least one image capture device configured for capturing image data in an environment surrounding the fluid injector system; and a control device comprising at least one processor programmed or configured to receive, with the at least one processor, the image data captured by the at least one image capture device; determine, with the at least one processor, whether the received image data comprises at least one predetermined characteristic; and perform, with the at least one processor, at least one action in response to determining whether the received image data comprises at least one predetermined char-acteristic.

  • Publication number: 20060167333
Abstract: An inflow conduit of a ventricular assist device configured to prevent formation of recirculation and stagnation zones as well as collapse due to external forces or pump induced suction can be rigid and have a funnel like shape with an elbow to accommodate a patient anatomy. Stiffening elements and pressure sensing devices can also be provided associated with the inflow conduit.

  • Publication number: 20060014999
Abstract: A pump includes a flexible conduit, at least one valve attached to the flexible conduit about the perimeter of the valve; and a drive mechanism to move the valve to pump blood within the conduit. The drive mechanism can, for example, be adapted to complete a single stroke during each heart ventricle contraction and/or to complete multiple strokes (that is, oscillate) during a single contraction. Another implantable pump for assisting blood flow, includes: a flexible conduit formed in an arc; at least one movable valve in operative connection with the conduit; and a drive mechanism to move the valve in an arced path to pump blood within the conduit. Another pump includes a conduit and at least one moveable valve within the conduit. The moveable valve includes a plurality of openings. Each of the plurality of openings has a closure mechanism in operative connection therewith.
