  • Patent number: 10623665
Abstract: Systems and apparatus may include converter device(s), a matrix switch, processor(s), and memory(s), where one or more of the converter devices provide video input signals to the matrix switch. A processor may determine if one of a plurality of video signals input to the matrix switch includes data representative of identification information overlain on a video image derived from one of the plurality of video signals. The determination may be based on a flag value stored in the converter device(s). The flag value may be retrieved by a server coupled to the matrix switch. If the information is included in the video signal, the video signal may be passed through a path in a matrix switch configured by the processor. If the information is not included in the video signal, the data representative of identification information may be retrieved from the converter device and then overlain on the video image.

  • Patent number: 9986234
Abstract: One feature pertains to an apparatus that includes a first communication interface, a second communication interface adapted to transmit and/or receive multimedia data signals to and/or from a device through a wired connection, and a memory circuit adapted to store instructions for conducting one or more wired connection integrity tests. The wired connection integrity tests determine at least whether the apparatus is able to communicate with the device. The apparatus further includes a processing circuit adapted to initiate the one or more wired connection integrity tests by executing the instructions stored in the memory circuit, determine whether each of the one or more wired connection integrity tests initiated passed or failed, and report whether the one or more wired connection integrity tests passed or failed. The wired connection integrity tests may include signal line communication tests, cable integrity and quality tests, and data or video test pattern tests.

  • Patent number: 9910817
Abstract: One feature pertains to an apparatus includes a universal serial bus (USB) communication interface that communicates with at least one USB peripheral device through a USB cable connection. The apparatus also includes a network communication interface that communicates with a communication network. The apparatus also includes a processing circuit that receives USB communication signals from the USB peripheral device, generates network data packets that include USB data based on the USB communication signals, and transmits the network data packets to a receiving device associated with a USB host device through the communication network. The apparatus also serves as a proxy USB host device to the USB peripheral device. The processing circuit may also transmit polling messages to the USB peripheral device at substantially regular time intervals, and receive the USB communication signals from the USB peripheral device in response to the polling messages.

  • Patent number: 9726919
Abstract: One feature pertains to a display monitor that includes a display having a front side surface that displays images and a frame housing the display. The frame includes at least one perimeter edge surface that extends along a perimeter of the display. The monitor further includes a protective rubber overmolding that removeably couples to and encases the perimeter edge surface. The frame may also include a front side surface that extends about a perimeter of the frame and is orthogonal to the perimeter edge surface, and the protective overmolding removeably couples to and encases the front side surface of the frame. A space may be present about the perimeter of the display between the frame's front side surface and the display's front side surface, and the protective overmolding includes a lip that resides within the space to form a liquid-resistant seal between the display and the frame.

  • Publication number: 20070052869
Abstract: A cost-effective apparatus and method for equalizing signals (e.g., TMDS signals) is presented. The apparatus includes a housing and an input connector and an output connector on the housing. An equalizer chip inside the housing receives input pixel signals from the input connector and transmits output pixel signals through the output connector. An buffer (e.g., an I2C buffer), which is also located inside the housing, receives input control signals (e.g., input I2C signals) from the input connector and transmits output control signals (e.g., output I2C signals) to the output connector. The apparatus may be operated in single-link or dual-link mode. A copper cable connecting a DVI signal source to the input connector may be as long as 60 meters without causing noticeable signal deterioration.
