  • Patent number: 4681468
Abstract: A printing apparatus including a support body and a printer. The support body has a first area for storing media to be supplied to the printer, and a second area for receiving media from the printer which is mounted on the support body. The support body has a linkage mechanism to enable the support body to be moved from a home position to an accessing position where the accessing of media in the support body is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4648591
Abstract: An apparatus for pocketing documents in vertically-aligned pockets. The apparatus includes a frame and slides for mounting the frame for reciprocal movement between a home position and an extended position relative to the apparatus. A plurality of vertically-aligned, pocket members is mounted on the frame for selectively receiving documents to be pocketed. A transfer station, having first and second track members, receives a document therebetween, with the first track member being mounted on the frame for movement therewith. A first transport apparatus is used to move a document in a first direction to said transfer station, and a second transport apparatus is used to move a document in a second direction from the transfer station to the plurality of pocket members. A transfer apparatus is used to transfer a document at the transfer station from the first transport apparatus to said second transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4544074
Abstract: A stopper for use as a closure in various applications comprises a cup-like member of flexible rubber or thermoplastic material. The stopper has an upper flange defining the stopper rim, a lower flange, a tapering nose portion beneath the lower flange forming the stopper base, and a wall portion between the flanges. The wall portion has an outer surface which tapers inwardly from the upper flange toward the lower flange at a specified angle. The tapered surface facilitates insertion of the stopper into an opening in a thin walled container for example, and allows the stopper to form an adequate seal in openings which are over- or undersize as compared to the nominal opening diameter, or which have other irregularities.

  • Patent number: 4431322
Abstract: A recording apparatus having multiple recording devices, each recording device being associated with a separate document feed path, in order to provide simultaneous recording on more than one document for the purpose of increasing effective document recording speed. The recording apparatus also includes driving mechanism for driving the documents along the feed paths, selection means for selecting an appropriate document feed path for each document which is introduced to the recording apparatus, and control means for controlling the recording devices, the driving mechanism and the selection means.

  • Patent number: 3969154
Abstract: 1. A method of inducing rapid failure in a shape that is under stress and is composed of cold rolled steel comprising applying against a surface of said cold rolled steel shape a mixture composed of lithium metal, lithium chloride and potassium chloride, rapidly heating that mixture as well as the surface of the steel shape in contact therewith sufficiently to melt the mixture but below the annealing temperature of the steel, and maintaining that temperature until the steel shape cracks.

  • Patent number: 3967552
Abstract: A sealed combustion cartridge mechanism is used to propel a projectile and o ignite an impact percussion type primer which in turn activates a delay train located in the projectile. The forward end of a cup seal telescoping propelling member is axially dimpled so that it will hold the primer in close proximity to the delay train. The convex portion of the dimple protrudes toward a movable propellant cup slidably contained within the closed combustion telescoping member. The propellant cup upon ignition of the propellant is forcibly thrown, by the rapidly expanding gases, against the protruding dimple and the rear of the projectile. The kinetic energy of impact of the propellant cup against the dimpled surface of the telescoping member is utilized not only to help the expanding telescoped cup seal member drive the projectile from the cartridge, but also to ignite the primer and start the delay train of the propelled round.
