Patent number: 6832403Abstract: A dock leveler system includes a pivotal deck whose movement provides the impetus for moving a bumper between an operative position and a retracted position. The bumper is movable relative to the deck, so that after a truck bumps up against the bumper, the bumper can move below the deck to avoid creating an obstacle to a forklift or the like traveling on the deck. The moveable bumper can be disposed within the width of a dock leveler deck that encompasses the full-width of a truck bed. Of the various embodiments, some bumpers pivot underneath the deck, and others move straight up and down. In the operative position, some bumpers are flush with the top of the deck, and others protrude above the deck.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2003Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: Rite-Hite Holding CorporationInventors: Norbert Hahn, Michael A. Swessel, Edward A. Raleigh

Publication number: 20040164095Abstract: An insert for a container includes an outer wall, a upstanding spout, and a bottom wall. The outer wall is configured to fit within an opening of the container and defines the periphery of the insert. The outer wall has a lower edge and an upper edge that is disposed at a first elevation. The upstanding spout is located within the outer wall and includes at least one substantially straight portion. The straight portion has a lower edge as well as a substantially straight upper edge that is disposed at a second elevation less than the first elevation. The bottom wall connects the lower edge of the outer wall and the lower edge of the spout to form a channel between the outer wall and the spout.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2003Publication date: August 26, 2004Applicants: InForm Product Development, Inc., Masterchem Industries, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Walsh, Edward A. Raleigh, Timothy J. Bierman, Scott G. Manke

Patent number: 6604874Abstract: A printer mechanism having a receptacle for receiving a printer cartridge therein. A print head is disposed in the receptacle, and a platen roller is rotatable about a roller axis. The platen roller is movable between a printing position in close proximity to the print head for urging labeling media and ink ribbon toward the print head and a nonprinting position in which the roller platen is spaced a distance from said print head to allow the labeling media and ink ribbon to be slipped therebetween. A platen roller gear is coaxial with said platen roller, and is engaged with a drive gear when the platen roller is in the printing position and disengaged from the platen roller gear when the platen roller is in the nonprinting position. A lever is linked to the platen roller, and is movable between a lock position and an unlock position.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Brady Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Richard L. Carriere, Kevin L. Wilken, Jeffery J. Brickl, Edward A. Raleigh

Patent number: 6591532Abstract: An ejection port gun lock includes an elongated body and a slide member which is slidably affixed to the body to move along a slide path (with the slide path being oriented generally parallel to the length of the body) between an engaged position within a gun ejection port and a disengaged position in the ejection port. A locking member is provided on the body adjacent to the slide path, and the locking member is movable between a locked position wherein it extends into the slide path to engage the slide member, and an unlocked position allowing motion of the slide member.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2002Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Product Source LLCInventors: Mark Gilbertson, Edward Raleigh, Charles Russell

Patent number: 6568008Abstract: A medical examination table is adapted to receive at least one two-way drawer assembly with a removable locking mechanism and an articulating backrest. The backrest is controlled by a linear actuator and can be adjusted to any desired position. The backrest requires a relatively small amount of space in the table, and therefore, storage capacity of the table is maximized.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2001Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: The Brewer Company, LLCInventors: Paul J. Patent number: 6434981Abstract: A combination lock having a housing, a shackle, a dial, a pushbutton, and a lock assembly. The lock assembly is made of a group of rotating disks having windows that can be aligned to open the lock. When the dial is turned according to the combination of the lock, the windows become aligned so that the user can depress the pushbutton to release the shackle. The pushbutton travels in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the dial. When the shackle is locked again, the pushbutton returns to its original position. As the pushbutton travels back to its original position, portions of the lock assembly are turned so that the combination must be reentered in order to reopen the lock.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2001Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Master Lock CompanyInventors: Steven A.
