  • Patent number: 7706994
Abstract: The present application provides improved systems and methods for rating the nutritional quality of food. The method includes (a) determining the water free weight percentage of one or more macronutrients in the food item; (b) assigning a numerical influence factor to each of the macronutrients; (c) multiplying the water free weight percentage of each macronutrient by the influence factor of the macronutrient to calculate a nutrient and influence factor product for each macronutrient; and (d) summing the nutrient and influence factor products of the macronutrients to calculate a numerical rating for the food item.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 2008
Date of Patent: April 27, 2010
    Assignee: Leona Ramsden

  • Patent number: 7210453
Abstract: A throttle control device for transmitting signals to an electronic fuel control system for a vehicle engine is provided that includes an electromagnetic field generator and first and second electromagnetic field sensors positioned proximal to electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field and the first and second sensors being manipulatable relative to each other, and the sensors being responsive to the relative manipulation. The sensors configured to independently transmit signals representative of said relative manipulation.

  • Publication number: 20050198547
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided to power-up a device having both digital and analog circuitry. The analog circuitry requires a stabilization period before proper operation. During power-up, the digital circuitry is held in reset by a power-on reset circuit. The power-on reset circuit releases the reset after the expiration of a power-on reset period. During the period of time after expiration of the power-on reset period and before the analog circuitry reaches equilibrium, the digital circuitry operates in a mode that does not require input signals from the analog circuitry. After the analog circuitry has reached equilibrium, the digital circuitry begins normal operation during which inputs signals from the analog circuitry may be processed by the digital circuitry.
