  • Publication number: 20240081197
Abstract: A robotic fruit picking system includes an autonomous robot that includes a positioning subsystem that enables autonomous positioning of the robot using a computer vision guidance system. The robot also includes at least one picking arm and at least one picking head, or other type of end effector, mounted on each picking arm to either cut a stem or branch for a specific fruit or bunch of fruits or pluck that fruit or bunch. A computer vision subsystem analyses images of the fruit to be picked or stored and a control subsystem is programmed with or learns picking strategies using machine learning techniques. A quality control (QC) subsystem monitors the quality of fruit and grades that fruit according to size and/or quality. The robot has a storage subsystem for storing fruit in containers for storage or transportation, or in punnets for retail.

  • Publication number: 20140178719
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an immersion tolerant electrical energy storage system for use with electric vehicles. The energy storage system is equipped with a sealed battery unit and a sealed heat exchanger that cooperates to inhibit the intrusion of fluids and other contaminants into the system. The ability to limit intrusion of such fluids and contaminants provides improved service life for the batteries in the battery unit and components of the thermal control system.

  • Publication number: 20140062490
Abstract: Cathodic protection (CP) monitoring methods, systems and system components that provide regular (typically daily or more frequent) potential data collection for accurate assessment of CP systems. The methods, systems and components of the invention are used for remote monitoring of passive sacrificial anode CP systems and more particularly for monitoring of CP protection for buried storage tanks. These systems have on-site components for collection of data and transmission of data to remote databases and can employ computer-implemented and/or system operator assessed data processing and interpretation of data to assess protection status of a given structure and further to generate appropriate reports of protection status and collected and processed data.

  • Publication number: 20130198979
Abstract: A vessel (1) comprises a roller assembly (32), the assembly comprising at least one roller arranged to bear against a structure to be accessed, the assembly further comprising a damper to inhibit rotation of the roller such that the roller arranged to inhibit relative movement of the vessel to the structure and the vessel further comprising a gangway assembly (10) for a vessel comprising a gangway (12), a pivotably mounted base (20), a sensor arrangement to sense movement of the vessel, an end portion (14) of the gangway pivotably connected to the base and an actuator connected to the gangway responsive to signals from the sensor arrangement to control the vertical position of an opposite end portion (15) of the gangway so as to compensate for vertical movement of the vessel, and the base arranged to respond to and compensate for roll of the vessel.
