  • Publication number: 20230355509
Abstract: The present invention provides a composition and its use in a unique treatment that provides pain relief for mammals. By treating an unconventional set of terminal nerve endings in an extremity (e.g., nerve endings that are generally found in the third plantar web space of the upper and lower extremities), pain in areas proximal to and/or at the root of the nerve can be treated. In several embodiments, these nerve endings are the terminal ends of nerves that emanate from the spinal cord and interconnect with other nerves to supply pain reception to the extremities. Treatment can occur with a variety of modalities to provide temporary and/or permanent pain relief in the unrelated distant part of the body (e.g., those areas closer to the root of the nerve).

  • Publication number: 20220254190
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to computer-implemented systems and methods for performing recognition over a network of devices. In general, the systems and methods implement a machine-learned recognizability model that can process information such as a person's voice, facial characteristics, or similar information to determine a recognizability score without necessarily generating or storing biometric information that could be used to identify the person. The recognizability score can act as a proxy for the quality of the information as a reference for biometric recognition that can be performed on other devices in the network of devices. Thus a single device can be used to enroll a person in the network (e.g., by capturing a number of photographs of the person). Thereafter, connection to the other devices can utilize a sensor (e.g., a camera) on the other devices to compare features of the reference information to the input received by the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20210377211
Abstract: Described embodiments provide systems and methods for cross protocol association using internet addresses for metadata association. An association between IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses can determined and used to bridge metadata from collection context in a first protocol into usage for a second protocol. A server can monitor a plurality of handshake exchanges to generate the association between IPv4 addresses and IPv6 addresses for a device or group of devices. The handshake exchange can include an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or both an IPv4 address and an IPv6 address for a respective device. The handshake exchanges can include a unique identifier corresponding to the respective device. The server can use the association to generate a mapping linking a range of IPv4 addresses to a range of IPv6 addresses corresponding to the same device. The mapping can be used to associate metadata to devices within the same ranges.

  • Patent number: 10846522
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating predictions for whether a target person is speaking during a portion of a video. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining one or more images which each depict a mouth of a given person at a respective time point. The images are processed using an image embedding neural network to generate a latent representation of the images. Audio data corresponding to the images is processed using an audio embedding neural network to generate a latent representation of the audio data. The latent representation of the images and the latent representation of the audio data is processed using a recurrent neural network to generate a prediction for whether the given person is speaking.

  • Patent number: 10179475
Abstract: A surface marking system, kit, and method enables a user to mark a pattern upon a surface. The components may include a rectangular marking material transfer body, a particularly marked alignment tape, and a series of spacer elements. The marking material transfer body includes a fixed dimension and at least one marking material transfer portion. The outer perimeter includes opposed mark-alignment edges. The alignment tape has a fixed width, a select length, and a marked anterior surface. The marked anterior surface includes a series of width-wise marks and a length-wise mark. The length-wise mark is centered relative to the fixed tape width. A select body dimension is firstly and successively positioned at a select number of sequentially spaced width-wise marks and mark-alignment edges are firstly and successively alignable with parallel length-wise marks. The spacer elements ensure parallel arrangement of the length-wise marks and provide overlap sections adjacent the mark-alignment edges.

  • Patent number: 8820803
Abstract: An emergency exit door lock system configured to cooperate with a door hinged in a door frame for sensing when a person attempts to open the door, and for allowing the door to open after a subsequent delay. The system comprises an electromagnet affixable to a door frame for electromagnetically attracting an armature resiliently affixed at a variable armature separation distance to an armature mounting device, the device being affixable to the door. A proximity sensor including an analog Hall Effect device is mountable to the frame for detecting movement of the door away from a closed position. A controller, such as a micro-controller, receives a signal from the sensor and causes an alarm as a function of the signal. The signal is indicative of the armature separation distance, the controller being calibrate-able to provide a door alarm signal and door opening signal at any desired value of the armature separation distance.

  • Patent number: 8448382
Abstract: A device for transferring electrical power between a frame and a closable member such as a door includes a first housing and face plate disposed in an opening in the frame and a second housing and face plate disposed in an opening in the closable member edge. The openings are positioned so that when the closable member is closed the openings are aligned. A hollow elbow assembly is rotatably disposed and secured in each hole. A tube having a pivot guide at each end is rotatably and axially slidable in each elbow assembly. A slot in each elbow assembly allows the tube to pivot. A wire bundle in the tube is connectable to wire leads. Boots may be supplied around the tube/elbow assemblies' junctions to exclude water. Thus, the wire bundle is fully contained within a protective, articulated, armored sheath to prevent wear, chafing, breakage, and vandalism.

  • Patent number: 8269125
Abstract: A device and method for device for sequencing disparate products includes at least a first feeder mechanism feeding a stream of a first product type in a pre-sequenced order. At least a second feeder mechanism feeds a stream of second product type though a sequencing process. A reading device reads product information of the first product type and the second product type. A pausing device pauses the first stream of the first product type or the second stream of the second product type in a first pass sort order of the sequencing process based on the information read from the reading device. The first product type and the second product type are intermixed into a stream forming a merged stream of sequenced first and second product type. A separation item may be placed between groupings of the intermixed product.

  • Patent number: 8005705
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for validating a baseline of a project. A computing application executes routines to automatically identify baseline errors associated with one or more tasks and generate exception reports to facilitate correction of the errors. The baseline errors are identified via determinations of whether (1) a task has no resources assigned, (2) resources are assigned to a summary task, (3) a task has an invalid earned value method value, (4) a task or milestone was not baselined, (5) a task's baseline start date was manually updated, (6) a task's baseline finish date was manually updated, (7) a task's baseline cost (BAC) was manually increased, (8) a task's BAC was manually decreased, and (9) a task's budgeted cost of work performed is not equal to the task's BAC.

  • Patent number: 7723633
Abstract: A system and method that sequences product to increase machine throughput. A plurality of input feeding devices each randomly receives products from a stream of product. A plurality of output groups corresponding to the plurality of input feeding devices are provided during a first pass phase and a second pass phase. The plurality of input feeding devices feed the product to output bins of the plurality of output groups. A control has a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation for a first pass phase and a second pass phase, respectively. In the first mode, the control allows all input feeding devices of the plurality of input feeding devices complete access to all output groups of the plurality of output groups during the first pass phase. In the second mode, the control constrains placement of the products to output groups assigned in the first pass phase such that the groupings of the products to the assigned output groups remain constant between the first pass phase and the second pass phase.
