  • Patent number: 10155514
Abstract: A control system for a motor vehicle that operates to receive a signal indicative of a steering angle of a vehicle and cause application of negative torque to one or more wheels of a vehicle to slow a wheel. The system is configured to perform a turn-assist operation in which the system causes application of negative torque to at least a first wheel of a vehicle being an inside trailing wheel when a steering angle exceeds a predetermined steering angle thereby to promote turning of a vehicle. The amount of negative torque is arranged to increase with increasing steering angle beyond the predetermined steering angle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 2014
Date of Patent: December 18, 2018
    Assignee: Jaguar Land Rover Limited
    Inventor: Edward Rycroft
  • Patent number: 10047854
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a vehicle speed control system operable to cause a vehicle to operate in accordance with a target speed value, the system being operable automatically to perform a direction change operation wherein the system causes a transmission of the vehicle to adopt a configuration corresponding to travel in an opposite direction to the instant configuration when the vehicle speed does not exceed a prescribed transmission direction change speed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 2014
Date of Patent: August 14, 2018
    Assignee: Jaguar Land Rover Limited
Inventors: James Kelly, Navid Shamshiri, Edward Rycroft
