    Abstract: A steering apparatus for an outboard motor includes an electrically-energized motor having a pinion meshed with a pivotally mounted gear sector. A linkage connects the gear sector to the outboard motor such that by energizing the electrical motor to rotate the shaft in a selected direction, the direction of the propeller thrust can be controlled.
