  • Patent number: 11928015
Abstract: A fault insertion device (FID) comprises a transceiver and an FPGA. The transceiver receives signals from a MIL-STD-1553/1760 communications bus. The FPGA evaluates the signals received from the communications bus against a set of rules stored by the FPGA. Based upon the set of rules, the FPGA can selectively modify messages received from the communications bus prior to transmission to a remote terminal or a bus controller that is configured to communicate on the communications bus.

  • Patent number: 10279921
Abstract: A cryogenic tank includes a shell having an interior side, an exterior side, and an internal volume that is bounded by the interior side. The shell has a shape that includes at least two elongated lobes that are defined by partial cylinders that intersect each other. The partial cylinders extend lengths along central longitudinal axes that are offset from each other. The lobes include opposite domes that extend at opposite ends of the length of the corresponding partial cylinder. The cryogenic tank includes an internal reinforcement frame having a web of elongate frame members extending within the internal volume. The frame members extend along the interior side of the shell such that lengths of the frame members extend along paths that follow the profile of the interior side of the shell. The internal reinforcement frame is configured to distribute loads exerted on the shell along at least three different directions.

  • Patent number: 9733090
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a route for a vehicle (6), the method comprising: measuring a position of the vehicle (6); providing a specification of a region (12) into which the vehicle (6) is to be moved; and, using the measurements and specification, determining the vehicle route. The route determination process comprises constructing a graph (34) within a state space (X) of the vehicle (6), identifying, within the graph (34), a path for the vehicle (6), performing a path shortening algorithm on the identified path, and, using the shortened path, determining the vehicle route. The path shortening algorithm comprises: selecting two vertices along the path that are separated by at least two edges; connecting the two selected vertices with an additional edge; and, depending on certain cost values, removing the edges and vertices by which the selected vertices are connected, and including, in the path, the additional edge.
