  • Publication number: 20190389598
Abstract: Embodiments of systems, devices, and methods are described that relate to module structures for use in forming a cabin interior of an aircraft. Many embodiments relate to a support structure including a lattice configurable to provide a standardizable frame for connection to the interior of the aircraft and to provide a space within the frame in which module fixtures can be positioned and secured to the frame. Embodiments of the support structure can include a floor with a number of structures and devices that can be used to provide support for the module and secure the module to the floor of the aircraft fuselage. Embodiments of transport systems for the modules are also described and such can be integrated with the floor of the module such that the modules transport mechanism, or a significant portion thereof, is contained within the module itself.

  • Patent number: 9844842
Abstract: A scaffolding clip and a scaffolding clip applicator tool are provided for fastening a web, such as a retaining mesh, to a scaffolding pole. During use a preferred method includes holding the fastening clip with the applicator, locating the web between the pole and the fastening clip, piercing the web with opposed ends of the clip and disengaging the applicator from the clip. In order to subsequently remove the clip from the pole a loop of the clip is engaged by a catch of the applicator and levered from the pole with a heel of the applicator that extends from opposite the catch and acts as a fulcrum.

  • Publication number: 20170021541
Abstract: Methods are provided for cooling a plastic part that has been produced in a mold. Carbon dioxide is fed through a capillary tube from a carbon dioxide source to the mold thereby providing cooling of the plastic part and avoiding hot spots in the plastic part prior to removal from the mold. The capillary tube is a smaller capillary tube located concentrically inside a larger capillary tube. Alternatively, the smaller capillary tube may extend from the end of the larger capillary tube telescopically thereby increasing the length of the capillary but also reducing its diameter as it progresses along its length.

  • Publication number: 20160374348
Abstract: An antimicrobial composite includes a polymeric support and at least one transition metal mounted onto the support surface. The transition metal may be silver, and the support material may be a non-reactive plastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The composite may be encapsulated by a permeable or porous outer layer. Preparation of the composite may involve mixing an aqueous salt solution containing the transition metal with the support in the presence of a surfactant, precipitating the metal onto the support, and reducing the metal to its elemental state. The resulting composite in which the polymeric support surface includes the elemental metal is useful in the treatment of water and ice to inhibit or prevent microbial growth.

  • Patent number: 8711688
Abstract: Network communications face security issues including traffic flow analysis attacks. Such attacks include deduction of information about networks through analysis of transmitted traffic volume or statistics, even if the traffic is encrypted. For example, an adversary may deduce operational information from traffic volume, or its timing. Described herein are security techniques that can provide transmission security with an obfuscating “cover” signal for any contention-based multiple access system by employing signal interference cancellation techniques, but are not so limited. The cover signal is transmitted on the same frequency band used by terminals on the network. Using “known-signal” and/or self-interference cancellation techniques, the cover signal can be removed by authorized terminals that have appropriate cover signal information and timing synchronization.

  • Patent number: 8165296
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for encryption and decryption of data in a TDMA network using TDMA time values. In some embodiments, TDMA time values can be transmitted to terminals from a network controller using a burst time plan. These TDMA time values along with other data and/or counters can be combined to create a one-time key, which can be used to both encrypt data and/or decrypt data. Embodiments of the invention can decrease communication overhead by using the TDMA time value for TDMA purposes as well as for encryption purposes.
