  • Publication number: 20240388021
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, one or more systems may comprise a system for leveraging a strain relief connector in a board connector or providing electrical power to a printed circuit board (PCB) retained in the board connector. A surface of the PCB is formed with a contact pad and a via is connected to the contact pad. The PCB is positioned in a first slot in the board connector and an electrically conductive bracket is positioned in a second slot in a strain relief connector. A bolt is advanced in a threaded passage to secure the PCB and the electrically conductive bracket in the board connector, wherein the electrically conductive bracket, the bolt and the contact pad form an electrical path from the electrical connector to the via in the PCB.

  • Patent number: 7778244
Abstract: A system for management of storage devices includes compatibility with either or both of COM/RS232 port and USB port connectivity using, for example, Fibre Channel (FC) signal transmission. A USB to serial RS232 bridge device allows a storage processor (SP) to communicate with an COM/RS232 port of a universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) coupled to downstream disk array enclosures (DAEs) to provide DAE management information without the need to modify the connection of the switch to the DAEs, which may include FC interconnects. The output from an COM/RS232 port on an SP interface and the RS232 output on the USB to Serial bridge device may be muxed at the UART, and the output signal therefrom diplexed with a high frequency differential signal and transmitted to one or more of the downstream DAEs as an FC diplexed signal.

  • Patent number: 5183117
Abstract: The method and apparatus of this invention provides a cannon-like device for projecting a sheath of fire extinguishing particles rapidly upwardly along a flaming oil and/or gas stream gushing up from an oil and/or gas well. The sheath instantaneously insulates the oil and/or gas in the stream from the surrounding atmosphere to freeze the flame at the tip of the sheath and shield the stream within the sheath from contact with the flaming oil and/or gas above and around the stream of oil and/or gas enclosed within the sheath until all of the already flaming oil and/or gas has been burned out. The method for eliminating the flames above the outlet of an oil well is accomplished by separating the oil and/or gas stream flowing from the oil and/or gas well from the flames by producing a sheath of fire extinguishing material, driven by an explosive charge into a position to surround and separate the oil and/or gas stream from the flames.

  • Patent number: 4893641
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for shaving hairs from the surface of the skin with a razor in the form of flexible razor blade fixed to a flexible support member by manually manipulating said razor comprising pressing the blade against the skin while moving said blade over the skin, applying said pressure to the back side of the support member by contact with one or the other of the thumb and fingers of the manipulator, and using the pressure for flexing the blade to follow the changing contour of the surface being shaved.

  • Patent number: 4845848
Abstract: This invention is concerned with the mounting of a flexible razor blade on a flexible holder such that the blade may be flexed about an arc having a radius as small as 1/8" or smaller to permit the blade to flow over protrusions or be flexed to shave through dimpled areas of the skin being shaved. The razor is useful for shaving over the jaw bone or shin bone areas for example without cutting the skin and may be pressed by the fingers of the user to delicately shave most any contoured area found on the normal skin of a human being.
