  • Publication number: 20230073788
Abstract: A medical fluid treatment system includes a source of purified water; at least one concentrate for mixing with the water from the source to form a treatment fluid; a disposable set including a pumping portion, a concentrate line in fluid communication with the concentrate source and the pumping portion, and a patient line in fluid communication with the pumping portion, the patient line including a filter having a membrane configured to filter the treatment fluid, the filter configured such that (i) fresh treatment fluid flowing from the pumping portion towards a patient flows through the membrane and (ii) used treatment fluid flowing through the filter from the patient to the pumping portion bypasses the membrane; and a medical fluid delivery machine including a pump actuator operable with the pumping portion of the disposable set.

  • Publication number: 20210363030
Abstract: A method and apparatus for evaluating a condition of a water purification system (40, 110) comprising a water purification apparatus (110) arranged to output purified water through an outlet (128) and through at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b) of a line set (40) fluidly connected to the outlet (128), the method comprises: monitoring a flow rate (S1) correlated with the flow rate of the purified water flowing through the at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b); monitoring a pressure (S2) correlated with the pressure of the purified water flowing to the at least one sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b); and evaluating (S3) a condition of the water purification system based on a relationship between the monitored flow rate and the monitored pressure.

  • Publication number: 20190125954
Abstract: A renal failure therapy system includes: (i) a dialysis fluid pumping unit including a dialysis fluid pump; (ii) a disposable set operable with the dialysis fluid pumping unit such that the dialysis fluid pump can pump dialysis fluid from the disposable set; (iii) a concentrate in fluid communication with the disposable set, wherein the concentrate is used to prepare the dialysis fluid; and (iv) a control unit operating the dialysis fluid pump, the control unit configured to cause a portion of the concentrate to fill at least a portion of the disposable set between treatments, the concentrate operating as a disinfectant allowing the disposable set to be used for multiple treatments with the same dialysis pumping unit.

  • Publication number: 20090143723
Abstract: A peritoneal dialysis flow control device in one embodiment includes: (i) a first cap including a first medical fluid line connection and a second medical fluid line connection; (ii) a gasket mated with the first cap where the gasket defines a first aperture in fluid communication with a first port and a second aperture in fluid communication with a second port; and (iii) a second cap including a third medical fluid line connection where the second cap is sealed rotatably to the gasket.

  • Patent number: 5924452
Abstract: A valve assembly for permitting fluid flow in a first direction and for preventing fluid flow in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The valve assembly includes an upper housing, a lower housing coupled to the upper housing to form a generally axially extending housing assembly, and a valve seating section defined within an inner peripheral portion of the lower housing. The valve seating section includes an axially extending inner peripheral surface and a transversely extending surface substantially normal to the axially extending inner peripheral surface. A valve member is seated within the valve seating section of said lower housing. The valve member includes a flange that extends from the valve member in a transverse direction and defines an axially oriented outer peripheral surface thereof.
