  • Patent number: 9906415
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided, in a cloud computing data processing system comprising a plurality of components, hosted on one or more hardware computing devices of the cloud computing data processing system, for transactional resource and topology management. A cloud service system is instantiated that comprises component instances having allocated resources. The cloud service system comprises orchestration engine logic which generates a transactional data structure that stores objects corresponding to transactions executed in association with resources and component instance state changes. The orchestration engine logic receives transactions associated with resources or component instances of the cloud service system and records the transactions as objects in the transactional data structure in response to receiving the transactions.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 27, 2018
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Edward T. Morgan, Roger C. Raphael, Paul S. Taylor, Michael G. Winter

  • Patent number: 8949862
Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method and technique for rate of operation progress reporting is disclosed. The method includes: responsive to completion by an application of one or more batch operations, storing an operation count corresponding to each completed batch operation; and, responsive to being polled by a monitoring module: identifying a time reporting window for the batch operations; and reporting a rate of progress meter value for the batch operations to the monitoring module based on the operation counts and the time reporting window.

  • Publication number: 20140207604
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a method, system and program product relating to dynamic competitive pricing. An aspect includes a method for providing digital auctions that uses a network manager to establish processing communication to at least one vendor participants. The network manager receives information about a consumer's contemplated purchase through a consumer's digital device. The information includes conditions related to the contemplated purchase. The information and conditions about the contemplated purchase of the consumer is then communicated, via the network manager, to the vendor participants. The network manager communicates back to the consumer a most advantageous offer provided by the vendor participants relating to the contemplated purchase through a webpage provided by the network manager.

  • Patent number: 4214523
Abstract: A lithographic ink and moisture control system is provided for maintaining copy quality over a wide range of operating and environmental conditions without special operator assistance. The control system, among other things, adjusts the ink and moisture feed rates to compensate for predicted changes in master conditions associated with the absorption of moisture by the master during the course of a copy run.

  • Patent number: 4157682
Abstract: A lithographic ink and moisture control system as provided for maintaining copy quality over a wide range of operating and environmental conditions without special operator assistance. The control system, among other things, adjusts the ink and moisture feed rates to compensate for predicted high moisture conditions which occur at several short copy runs, wherein significant moisture is introduced with each new master.

  • Patent number: 4156388
Abstract: A lithographic ink and moisture control system is provided for maintaining copy quality over a wide range of operating and environmental conditions without special operator assistance. The control system, among other things, adjusts the ink and moisture feed rates upon machine start up to compensate for moisture evaporated from the system during shutdown.

  • Patent number: 4130056
Abstract: A moisture control feed system of the bare-back type in which there is in nip-contact with a moisture transfer roll and the moisture transfer roll is driven solely by the shear resistance offered by the intervening layers at the nip of the ink and the moisture. The system includes an ink reservoir that simulates an oleophilic image in the form of a narrow strip extending transverse the direction of rotation of the master cylinder and is located outside the master retention area to supply ink to the oleophilic moisture form roll. The simulated image maintains the proper ink layer thickness on the oleophilic moisture form roll and the ink quality to assure proper rotational speed control of the transfer roll.
