The first workstation has lockout functionality, wherein at least a portion of the functionality of the workstation is locked when a lockout module in the first workstation detects a violation of a predetermined rule. The first workstation includes an override request module that sends an override request message to the second workstation, which is associated with a supervisor. The second workstation includes an override response module that the supervisor uses to send an override response message back to the first workstation. When the first workstation receives an override response message that authorizes overriding the rule, the first workstation is unlocked.

    Abstract: A system and method for combining the model-based and genetics-based methods are combined according to a convergence criterion. When the population is not converged, the genetics-based approach is used, and when the population is converged, the model-based method is used to generate offspring. The algorithm benefits from using a model-based offspring generation only when the population shows a certain degree of regularity, i.e., converged in a stochastic sense. In addition, a more sophisticated method to construct the stochastic part of the model can be used. Also a biased Gaussian noise (the mean of the noise is not zero), as well as a white Gaussian noise (the mean of the noise is zero) can be preferably used for the stochastic part of the model.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer readable storage to implement an automatic ordering system so that a bank customer can either receive automatic reminders or automatic reorder notification when it is time for the customer to reorder checks. The system tracks check numbers that the customer has in his or her possession and also tracks the check numbers that the customer has written. When the system determines that the customer is running low on checks, the customer can be presented with an automatic reminder to reorder, and then can easily reorder replacement checks. Alternatively, the system can automatically place the checks reorder for the customer if the automatic reorder option is enabled.

    Abstract: A method, system, and computer readable storage to implement a method to determine flow schedules for processing a check presented at a bank by a patron. The flow schedule can be determined by using a routing number associated with the check and then looking up the routing number in a database in order to determine whether the check is an on-us check or transit check. The system can further determine whether a transit check is a local or non-local check based on whether the bank uses the same check processing center as the paying financial institution of the check. The type of check deposited by a patron affects the flow schedule and hence the information relayed to the patron. The flow schedule also varies in accordance with whether the patron is a customer of the bank and other factors.
