  • Patent number: 4920885
Abstract: A propellant containing device for a power actuated tool used to drive fasteners into concrete and the like. A cartridge member has an inner substantially cylindrical recess. The recess has an inner area and is filled with propellant. A cap closure member is used to seal the cartridge member and holds a detonator charge. An annular skirt formed integral with the cartridge member is located so as to act as one half of the anvil when the detonator charge is compressed between the annular skirt and the cap closure member using rim-fire techniques. The cap closure member and the cartridge member are made from a suitable plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4819562
Abstract: A propellant containing device for use in association with a gun with a detonator mechanism and drive mechanism for the purpose of driving an attachment member into a structure. The device has an elongate or circular base. A plurality of cartridge members are formed integrally with the base and each member contains an explosive charge. The base and the cartridge members are formed in one piece from a material selected from plastic or ceramic. The region of the cartridge members integral with the base are closed by a cap which is adapted to fit within a recess formed in the periphery of the closed ends of the cartridge members. The cap is adapted to be hit by the detonator mechanism to detonate an explosive charge located in the cartridge member. A drive engagement fitting on the base allows the base to be moved progressively so that each cartridge member aligns successively with the detonator mechanism of the gun.

  • Patent number: 4762351
Abstract: A security device for limiting the opening of a door comprises a first base member mounted on a door and a second base member mounted on a door frame. A first connecting member is pivotably mounted on the second base member and a second connecting member is pivotably connected to said first connecting member. The second connecting member has a T-shaped end portion which is engageable with a T-shaped slot of the first base member. When the T-shaped end of the second connecting member is engaged in the slot of the first base member, the door is prevented from opening more than a distance which is insufficient to allow access to a room protected by the security device.

  • Patent number: 3934993
Abstract: Glassware treating apparatus in which bottles which have been coated with a non-abrading coating are treated to remove surface irregularities in the coating on the bottom of the bottles. The bottles are gripped and suspended from conveyor means and pass consecutively over a heating zone, a cooling zone and a drying zone for removing the surface irregularities.

  • Patent number: RE28947
Abstract: A glass annealing lehr to which newly formed glassware is passed under and over sprays of abrasion resistant material by transfer mechanism that engages the ware and suspends it to expose the bottom to spray, the transfer mechanism in one form being capable of transferring the ware from one conveyor to another moving in opposite directions out of contact with said conveyors during the transfer movement.

  • Patent number: RE29528
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for annealing glassware by passing the ware continuously through a tunnel in which the application of heat and recirculation of the gaseous treating medium is regulated to establish and maintain independently controllable heating and cooling zones. An endless perforated conveyor passes from end to end of the tunnel and the ware is placed on the conveyor in alignment with and beneath a jet-like blast of the treating medium internally and externally of the ware simultaneously to subject all of the ware to uniform treatment in minimum time. The treating medium in the heating zones of the tunnel is recirculated and furnace pressure and temperature is regulated by circulating fans and by dampers between the furnace chambers with the outside atmosphere.
