  • Patent number: 4055933
Abstract: A flexible transparent envelope for packaging photographic slides which has opposed inwardly opening pockets with means for attaching the envelope package along with other similar envelopes along one marginal edge thereof into a book or folder for easy inspection and compact storage, said invention also including a machine which folds the slide-packaging envelope along its longitudinal center line to expose the inner open ends of the pockets on both sides of said center line and successively inserts said slides into said pockets in assembly line fashion as said slides are delivered by a conventional slide machine, such as the "Pakon" mounter manufactured by Pako Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota, the assignee hereunder. The invention also relates to the method of packaging the slides in said envelopes.

  • Patent number: 3974626
Abstract: A mechanism for collecting and arranging into a horizontal stack a large quantity of photographic slides being delivered from a photographic slide mounting machine, which includes a transfer and packing belt positioned to receive the mounted slides in overlapped relation and an elongated carrier cassette which is open on the bottom and at one end and is mounted over the upper run of said belt to enclose the same and provided with a generally inclined stacking element at the end of said cassette which is remotely disposed from said delivery mechanism of the mounting machine, the leading edge of said stacking element positioned in closely spaced relation above the upper run to receive and progressively raise into upstanding horizontally stacked relation the mounted slides being transferred by said belt. This invention also embodies the method for arranging said slides into a closely packed horizontal stack within a carrier cassette adapted for transportation and/or storage of the mounted slides.

  • Patent number: 3967776
Abstract: This is a continuous elongated multi-layer web assembly having outer cover layers and intermediate divider layers connected along one longitudinal edge portion thereof and specifically adapted for automatic separate packaging of developed film negatives, prints and other materials for the ultimate consumer while providing individual pockets for the prints, negatives, and other materials and having spaced apart transverse severance line areas defining individual multi-pocketed packaging envelopes wherein portions of intermediate divider layers along said severance line areas are cut out to permit face to face sealing contact between the outer cover layers to define each package and also having completely severed portions which are cut through the connected edge portions of solid layers and which are respectively aligned with the transverse severance line areas to facilitate cutting along the remaining length of the severance lines to form said individual packages.
