  • Publication number: 20120046694
Abstract: Disclosed is a chiropractic instrument capable of achieving the benefits of algorithmic pre-stretch, power-stretch, and recoil and release in reciprocating therapy to human tissue. In particular, that application teaches a plunging-probing technique wherein a barrage of power-stretch impulses is added to a time-modulated ramp of increasing and decreasing stretches, while offering an inherent safety-limit which prevents, upon operator error force, beyond the max given on its label, while providing meaningful tactile feedback to the practitioner. The new idea yields tethered reproducible power-stretches which only occur concurrently with achieving precise, variable, and preset levels of tissue pre-stretch force.

  • Patent number: 7503923
Abstract: An impact head for a chiropractic adjustment tool or tapper that is easy to install, remains stable during lateral movements and easily exchangeable. The impact head comprises a central bore having a bore diameter disposed in the impact head at the attachment end, an annular slot concentrically disposed and parallel to the impact head central bore extending into the impact head from the attachment end of the impact head. The impact head is then attached to a reciprocating rod having a rod center bore and an annular reciprocating rod insert end wherein the reciprocating rod attaches by inserting the reciprocating rod insert end into the annular slot of the impact head and in a central insert having an insert diameter inserted into the impact head central.

  • Patent number: 6805700
Abstract: A chiropractic adjustment tool or tapper comprises a housing, the housing having an open end; a impact assembly disposed within the housing and secured thereto. The impact assembly comprises a reciprocating rod with adjustable travel and impact force. An impelling element such as a solenoid is provided to accelerate the reciprocating rod. Disposed on one end of the reciprocating rod is a coupler to permit multiple impact heads to be attached to the tool. The tool is further improved with the addition of a fan unit on a port in the housing and an exit port located on a distal end of the housing, preferably at a location such that air flow is across the impelling element, and any switch or circuitry to provide cooling and extend tool life.

  • Patent number: 6723060
Abstract: A therapeutic vibrator comprising a motor contained in a housing, a diaphragm mounted on said housing, and a reciprocating arm connecting the motor to the diaphragm. The housing is fitted with at least one one-way air valve, and at least one air hole so that in operation, the changing volume in the housing effects the pumping of air across the motor and any circuitry to provide cooling. To improve efficiency, a divider plate with at least one air hole is disposed proximate the reciprocating arm to limit the volume of the pumping chamber.

  • Patent number: 6663657
Abstract: An improved chiropractic adjustment tool or impact tool for use both as a multiple impact tool and a single impact tool. The impact tool assembly is comprised of a solenoid driven reciprocating rod with adjustable travel and impact force. The tool is improved with the addition of a switch to convert the tool from a multiple impact tool to a single impact tool, preferably through the use of a Hall effect switch.

Abstract: A chiropractic adjustment tool or tapper comprises a housing, the housing having an open end; a impact assembly disposed within the housing and secured thereto. The impact assembly comprises a reciprocating rod with adjustable travel and impact force. An impelling means such as a solenoid is provided to accelerate the reciprocating rod. Disposed on one end of the reciprocating rod is a coupler to permit multiple impact heads to be attached to the tool. The tool is further improved with the addition of a fan unit on a port in the housing and an exit port located on a distal end of the housing, preferably at a location such that air flow is across the impelling means, and any switch or circuitry to provide cooling and extend tool life.

  • Patent number: 5377609
Abstract: A pivotable handle pole assembly for jet skis has integral gas spring for exerting a resilient upward bias force on the free end of the handle containing controls for the jet ski, thereby decreasing the apparent weight of the free end of the handle. The handle pole assembly includes a laterally elongated rectangular transverse cross-section beam pivotably mounted at the front end thereof between a pair of laterally spaced apart, longitudinally disposed flange plates forming side walls of a mounting frame having a flat base adapted to be attached to the body of a jet ski. A longitudinally disposed groove in the lower wall of the beam located between a vertical midplane and a side wall of the beam runs rearward from the front portion of the beam. An elongated linear gas spring within the groove has one end thereof pivotably fastened between opposite longitudinal groove walls, near the rear transverse wall of the groove.
