    Abstract: An operator's license validation system for a motor vehicle which uses an operator's license which is encoded with data. The data encoded includes the expiration date of operating privileges. A card reader is provided which is designed to read the expiration date encoded on the card. The card reader transmits the information encoded on the license to a control unit. The control unit compares the expiration date to the contemporaneous date. If the expiration date has not expired, the control unit activates an indicator. If the expiration date has expired the control unit will not activate the indicator. The indicator is to be mounted a predetermined location that is visible to oncoming traffic.
