Patent number: 12382242Abstract: A method and system for limiting mobile device functionality when the mobile device is located in a pre-defined fixed geographic area. The mobile device may receive a local disabling signal from a disabling device, which, when detected by a Device Owner Application resident on the mobile device, limits the mobile device functionality. Alternatively, the system may use GPS based geofencing to determine that the mobile device is in a predefined geographic area, and then transmit instructions to the mobile device, where a Device Owner Application operates to restrict the mobile device functionality. Mobile device functionality may be limited by restricting the mobile device's ability to send and receive text messages, email messages and phone calls; restricting the mobile device's ability to respond to user input; restricting the mobile device's ability to utilize a web browser; and restricting the mobile device's web browser from accessing predetermined web sites.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2022Date of Patent: August 5, 2025Assignee: Cbros Technologies, LLCInventors: Stephen Nelson Mahar, Donald Edward Williams, Jr.

Patent number: 12352586Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for planning a path within a field for a farming machine. The system predicts boundaries of the field using a previously captured image of the field and generates a suggested route to be taken by a data collection device based on the predicted boundaries. As the data collection device travels along the suggested route, the data collection device collects location data associated with a current layout of the field. The location data may be labeled with obstructions encountered along the way. Based on the location data, the system identifies current boundaries of the field, which may be different from the predicted boundaries. The current boundaries are sent to a verification device to be verified. After the current boundaries have been verified, the path for the farming machine is planned.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2021Date of Patent: July 8, 2025Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Edward William Jeffcott Pell, Brent William West

Publication number: 20250063978Abstract: An autonomous farming machine navigable in an environment for performing farming action(s) is disclosed. The farming machine receives a notification from a manager that there are no obstacles in the blind spots of the detection system. The farming machine applies an obstacle detection model to the captured images to verify that there are no obstacles in unobstructed views. The farming machine determines a configuration of the farming machine. The farming machine determines a virtual safety bubble for the farming machine to autonomously perform the farming action(s) based on the determined configuration. The farming machine detects an obstacle in the environment by applying the obstacle detection model to the captured images. The farming machine determines that the obstacle is entering the virtual safety bubble. In response to determining that the obstacle is entering the virtual safety bubble, the farming machine terminates operation of the farming machine and/or enacts preventive measures.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2024Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventors: Edward William Jeffcott Pell, Ugur Oezdemir
