  • Publication number: 20220370240
Abstract: A method and apparatus used to prevent brain death by use of rapid and safe cooling of the brain is disclosed. The cisterna magna is accessed through a patient's neck and cooled artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF) is circulated about spaces within the brain and in a subarachnoid space surrounding the brain by entering the cisterna magna with an entry through the neck of the patient with a specially designed needle/cannula which allows the flow of cooled aCSF about the brain. aCSF exits from an opening in the skull where a temperature/pressure sensor is placed. Data is sent to a computer-controlled motorized system that pumps cooled aCSF to the needle/cannula placed in the cisterna magna. The pumping of aCSF is controlled to maintain a predetermined temperature and/or pressure of the exiting aCSF.

  • Patent number: 9354020
Abstract: A projectile launcher includes a housing including a launching section. The launching section includes a first spring and a second spring, a piston coupled with the first and second springs, and a charger that compresses each of the first and second springs against the piston within the launching section. The projectile launcher further includes hollow barrel that extends to a front end of the projectile launcher, a projectile loading area configured to receive and load a projectile in position with a firing end of the piston and the barrel, and a trigger. Compression of the first and second springs by the charger is released in response to actuation of the trigger, where release of the compression of the first and second springs forces movement of the piston toward the projectile loading area so as to launch a projectile loaded within the projectile loading area through the barrel and from the projectile launcher.

  • Publication number: 20110196930
Abstract: In one embodiment, a collaboration session is conducted between a plurality of participant devices. The content shared during the collaboration session is recorded. The recorded content indicates content that was shared at various times during the collaboration session. An activity status of at least some participant devices is recorded at various times during the collaboration session. The activity status of the at least some participant devices is correlated with the content that was being shared at each of a plurality of times during the collaboration session. For a selected time of the plurality of times during the collaboration session, the content that was being shared in the collaboration session at the selected time and an indication of the activity status of the at least some participant devices at the selected time is displayed.

  • Patent number: 7946902
Abstract: An articulated walking device, configured for movement across a surface, includes a frame and a plurality of leg assemblies movably coupled with the frame so as to at least partially support the frame for movement across the surface. Each leg assembly includes a leg member configured to rotate with respect to the frame about a joint. The joint is formed by a pin passed through an at least generally hour glass shaped aperture to provide rotational movement of the leg member with respect to the frame about at least first and second axes of rotation intersecting in the joint. A drive mechanism is operatively engaged with the plurality of leg assemblies so as to actuate each of the leg members to rotate about the first and second axes in a like, predetermined, repeatable cycle of movement. At least some of the leg members are out of phase with other leg members to produce an anatomic-like gait of the toy device upon actuation of the drive mechanism.
