  • Patent number: 4995557
Abstract: A food package particularly adapted for packaging food products for eat-in or carryout service is prepared from a pair of combination tray/cover components made from identical blanks of paperboard or the like. Each tray/cover component comprises a base panel with opposed side walls and a rear wall which are retained in an upright condition by glue flaps attached to the rear wall and adhered to the side walls. The front wall remains in the same general plane of the base panel to form an open ended tray for eat-in use. For carryout use, two components are joined together wherein tabs on the ends of the front wall of one component are engaged in slots provided in the rear walls of another component to form a tray/cover combination.

  • Patent number: 4392606
Abstract: A bulk material container, adapted to be supported on a pallet or the like, comprising a collapsible body portion and upper and lower end caps. The collapsible body portion is prepared from a pair of blanks of corrugated paperboard scored to form a plurality of side walls having coterminous upper and lower edges. The blanks of paperboard are superimposed on one another and interleaved to produce a construction wherein the unsecured ends of each respective blank are separated from one another by a corner of the other respective blank. The body portion is pre-banded in the collapsed condition with two or more support straps which provide restraint for the side walls when the body portion is squared and filled.

  • Patent number: 4262837
Abstract: The bottle carrier of the present invention is constructed from two half slotted containers that have their manufacturers joint located substantially midway along a side wall and which are connected together along that side wall to provide an integral divider that separates the carrier into two equally sized compartments. The two half slotted containers also include partial hand hole cut outs in each end wall which come together when the containers are connected to form a pair of complete hand hole openings.

  • Patent number: 4027817
Abstract: The cushioning member of the present invention consists of a pair of legs which become locked together with a frictional fit when folded into their useable configuration. The cushioning member is prepared from a one-piece blank of cut and scored paperboard or the like and is readily produced with the aid of a minimum of folding steps to result in a structure comprising legs formed from multiple layers of the blank material joined by a common central blank portion. The improvement in the invention resides in the fact that the leg structures include strategically located cut-outs and interlocking tab portions which become frictionally engaged with one another when the legs are folded from their normally flat, unassembled condition to a substantially right angle useful condition.

  • Patent number: 3982682
Abstract: An elongated corner post for use between the vertical corners of containers and products packaged therein consisting essentially of an integral rectangular tube and attached leg prepared from a single blank of paperboard or the like, said blank being of substantially rectangular configuration and divided along one of its dimensions by a plurality of parallel fold lines into a plurality of discrete panels of unequal width, at least two of said panels being arranged in overlapping engagement and secured to one another, the improvement wherein the formed corner post is normally stored and shipped in a substantially flat condition and manually erected into the tube and leg configuration at the point of use.
