  • Publication number: 20190190808
Abstract: A system includes an egress apparatus communicatively coupled with an ingress apparatus via at least one bi-directional network connection established for a given site. Each of the ingress and egress apparatuses includes packet categorizer to categorize each of the egress data packets based on packet evaluation thereof with respect to prioritization rules. Packet routing control places each outgoing data packet (from the ingress or egress apparatus) in one of multiple according to the categorization of each respective packet to control sending the packets according to the priority of the respective queue into which each packet is placed.

  • Publication number: 20170366467
Abstract: As an example, a method includes storing, in non-transitory memory, prioritization rules that establish a priority preference for egress of data traffic for a first location. The first location includes a first location apparatus to control egress of data traffic for the first location apparatus and a second location apparatus at a second location, which is different from the first location, to receive data traffic and cooperate with the first apparatus to measure bandwidth with respect to the first location. The first location apparatus is coupled with the second location apparatus via at least one bidirectional network connection. The method also includes estimating capacity of the at least one network connection for the egress of data traffic with respect to the first location. The method also includes categorizing each packet in egress data traffic from the first location based on an evaluation of each packet with respect to the prioritization rules.

  • Patent number: 9137376
Abstract: A method for joining a teleconference includes receiving a schedule for the teleconference at a conferencing system. The schedule may include a start time for the teleconference and one or more conference rooms for attendees to use during the teleconference. A first message is sent from the conferencing system to the at least one communication device. The first message indicates to the at least one communication device to provide a user notification associated with the teleconference. A second message is received at the conferencing system. The second message is sent in response to an action by an attendee of the teleconference. The second message indicates to the conferencing system to initiate the teleconference with the at least one communication device or to join the at least one communication device to the teleconference.

  • Patent number: 8644836
Abstract: Routing an incoming call for an IP phone system is disclosed. A location data for a mobile device is received. A way point based at least in part on the location data is determined. A state for a user of the IP phone system is determined based at least in part on the way point. An incoming call is routed to the IP phone system based at least in part on the state.

  • Patent number: 8358776
Abstract: A telephone comprising one or more speaker apertures, a microphone indicator disposed on a user-facing surface of the telephone, and one or more microphone apertures disposed proximate to the microphone indicator on a surface of the telephone other than the user-facing surface, where at least one of the microphone apertures is operable to allow audio to pass from the user to a microphone disposed in the telephone, and where the microphone indicator is arranged to direct the user to speak in a direction toward at least one of the microphone apertures.

  • Publication number: 20070171098
Abstract: A button box provides additional keys that can be used in conjunction with a telephone. In one embodiment, a button box is configured by associating it with a telephone and by programming its keys. When a key on the button box is activated, a key press event is sent from the button box to the associated phone. The phone treats the key press event as if a key on the phone itself had been activated and forwards the event to the voice switch appliance associated with the phone. (Alternatively, the key press event is sent from the button box directly to a voice switch appliance.) The button box's user interface is controlled by a voice switch appliance.

  • Patent number: 5963208
Abstract: A multi-protocol network client in which a single, integrated user-interface is provided for accessing information according to a number of network access protocols. The accessed information is represented in a hierarchical graph which provides an intuitive and convenient navigation tool for both the experienced and the novice user. The user accesses information according to a particular network access protocol by merely selecting a graphical representation of an item the user wishes to access from the hierarchical graph. Information pertaining to the particular item whose representation is selected by the user is retrieved and used to determine the network access protocol according to which the item is accessed. As an item is retrieved from the network, links contained within the item are parsed from the item and added to the hierarchical graph.
