  • Patent number: 10201835
Abstract: A system for mounting a wire screen panel to a frame for screening particulate materials. The frame has a stringer with a ferrule defined therein. The system comprises a screen panel having a first plurality of wires and a second plurality of wires disposed. The screen panel has a first side and a second side disposed opposite from the first side. The screen panel has a first end and a second end disposed opposite from the first end. A plate is disposed along at least a portion of the length of the first side of the screen panel. A fastener having a shaft and a head portion is configured and arranged to extend adjacent to the plate and to engage with a bushing disposed in the ferrule in the stringer. The head portion of the fastener engages with the plate on the side of the plate opposite the stringer such that the screen panel is fixed in position relative to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20040050758
Abstract: A non-woven wire mesh screen having a first planar array of stainless steel wires disposed in a longitudinal direction and a second planar array of stainless steel wires disposed transverse to the first planar array. The stainless steel wires have a tensile strength greater than 200,000 psi.

  • Patent number: 6612913
Abstract: A wire cleaning system includes a pair of blocks that are generally elongated and have an internal chamber. A conduit extends from the chamber to a port disposed at the side of the block. The port is connected to an air supply. A groove is made on one side of the block. The groove generally conforms to the wire diameter or shape. Holes are made from the bottom of the groove to the chamber. An abrasive media may be placed over the holes in the groove in the blocks. A pair of the above-described blocks with media disposed in the grooves are placed on opposite sides of the wire and squeezed together by clamps, holding the media against the wire. The face on the leading side of the block is placed against a stop to prevent it from moving as the wire is pulled. Additional pairs of blocks are added as required in a radial direction to cover the entire circumference of the wire. As the wire is pulled, air is injected into the ports in the blocks. The air exits from the holes and blows off the debris from the media.

  • Patent number: 4426012
Abstract: A railway car coupler includes a shank, a head connected to a head end portion of the shank, a knuckle pivoted to the head having closed and open positions, and a lock axially movable within a chamber formed in the shank between a knuckle engaged position for maintaining the knuckle in the closed position and a knuckle disengaged position for enabling the knuckle to be pivoted to the open position. A thrower is pivotally connected to the lock and has an arm disposed to one side of the pivot for engaging the knuckle to rotate the knuckle to its open position. An actuating mechanism is connected to the thrower-lock assembly and is axially movable within the chamber. The actuating mechanism functions to axially move the lock towards its knuckle disengaged position, with continued movement of the actuating mechanism in the same direction pivoting the thrower and consequentially the knuckle to its open position after the lock has obtained its knuckle disengaged position.
