  • Patent number: 7517929
Abstract: A hydrido-silicone resin is incompletely reacted with an olefin under hydrosilylation conditions to produce a partially substituted hydrido-silicone that is further reacted under hydrosilylation conditions with a vinyl containing silicone to consume the remaining hydride species to produce a composition that is useful as an anti-mist agent in the coating of flexible supports.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 2004
Date of Patent: April 14, 2009
    Assignee: Momentive Performance Materials Inc.
Inventors: John Alfred Kilgour, Edwin C. Cua, John A. Cummings
  • Patent number: 7135512
Abstract: A hydrido-silicone is incompletely reacted with (preferably) a long chain olefin under hydrosilylation conditions to produce a partially substituted hydrido-silicone that is further reacted under hydrosilylation conditions with a vinyl containing MQ resin to partially consume the remaining hydride species which is then reacted under hydrosilylation conditions to consume the remaining hydride species with a long chain olefin to produce a composition that is useful as an anti-mist agent in the coating of flexible supports.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 2002
Date of Patent: November 14, 2006
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: John Alfred Kilgour, Edwin C. Cua, John A. Cummings
  • Patent number: 6887949
Abstract: A hydrido-silicone is incompletely reacted with (preferably) a long chain olefin under hydrosilylation conditions to produce a partially substituted hydrido-silicone that is further reacted under hydrosilylation conditions with a vinyl containing MQ resin to partially consume the remaining hydride species which is then reacted under hydrosilylation conditions to consume the remaining hydride species with a long chain di- or multi-alkenyl silicone to produce a composition that is useful as an anti-mist agent in the coating of flexible supports.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 2002
Date of Patent: May 3, 2005
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: John Alfred Kilgour, Edwin C. Cua, John A. Cummings
  • Patent number: 6774201
Abstract: Star branched siloxane compounds suitable as anti-mist additives in the coating of flexible supports are made as the reaction product of: Mg′MaMHb−gDcDh′DHd−hTeTi′THf−i and (MjMVikDlDVimTnTVioQp)q, in the presence of a noble metal hydrosilylation catalyst where the ratio between the hydride containing precursor and the vinyl containing precursor is defined by a mathematical relationship between the stoichiometric subscripts of the precursors, (b+d+f−g−h−i)/(((k+m+o)p)q) ranging from 4.59 to 0.25 and where the compound: Mg′MaMHb−gDcDh′DHd−hTeTi′THf−i may be obtained by the following reaction: MaMHbDcDHdTeTHf+&agr;CH2═CHR1→Mg′MaMHb−gDcDh′DHd−hTeTi′THf−I, which compound itself is a star branched siloxane compound useful as an anti-mist additive.
