    Abstract: The drainage of pulp sheet is improved by treatment of the pulp prior to entry to the sheet making machine with a composition comprising a suspension of finely-divided hydrophobic lubricating particles in a suitable carrier liquid. The invention has particular applicability to paper making wherein the smoothness and printability of the paper is improved and to pulp drying.
