  • Publication number: 20240027305
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to an automated method of transferring biological material from a sample disposed on a planar substrate into a collection tube. The method can include: using a dissection too that has an internal passageway extending between first and second ends of the tool and an air-permeable filter element that spans the internal passageway. The method can include steps of physically detaching the biological material from the planar substrate using the scraping blade of the dissection tool, generating an underpressure at the tool second end by connecting the internal passageway to a vacuum generator, attaching the collection tube to an outer surface of the dissection tool in an airtight manner; and generating an overpressure at the tool second end, and transferring the material into the collection tube.

  • Publication number: 20220326124
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a dissection tool for mechanical removal of biological material from a tissue sample on a planar substrate, such a glass slide including a platform for supporting the glass slide and a positioning system configured to move the dissection tool and platform relative to each other and control their relative positions. The dissection tool has a longitudinal axis and is arranged at an oblique angle relative to the platform and a thin-walled gouging head that has a base portion. The gouging head includes opposing side portions which extend from the base portion in a direction away from the glass slide and which at least partly enclose a cavity within the gouging head for receiving biological material that is dissected when relative movement between the platform and the dissection tool causes a front face of the gouging head to gouge a track though the tissue sample.

  • Patent number: 6412859
Abstract: A folding roof for a vehicle having an opening in its fixed roof comprises a frame to be mounted in the opening, which frame comprises a passage opening and a flexible cover for selectively closing or releasing the opening. A control beam which is attached to the opening side of the cover, is guided in guide rails at its lateral ends. A driving mechanism is connected to the control beam and selectively moves the control beam for opening or closing the folding roof. A push-off element can come into engagement with the frame when the control beam approaches the closed position. A transmission mechanism positioned between the push-off element and the drive mechanism pulls the control beam to the closed position with increased driving force during the last part of the closing movement. The push-off element is provided laterally of the control beam and co-operates with the stationary guide rails.

  • Patent number: 6217110
Abstract: An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening in its fixed roof, which comprises a frame part to be secured to the roof and an adjustable closing element supported by said frame part, which is adjustable between a closed position and an open position. The closing element comprises at least one rigid plate, which is capable of pivoting movement about a first pivot pin with respect to a part disposed before said rigid plate, which part remains stationary during said pivoting movement. The plate and the part disposed before said plate are fixedly interconnected by means of a flexible sealing element. The plate may make up a wind deflector or part of the closing element.
