  • Publication number: 20100108559
Abstract: A packaged product combination comprises a number of different medicaments of different shape and/or colour, the actual shape and/or colour of the medicaments providing user information relating to the medicament, for example a recommended dosage time in relation to meal times. For example, products to be taken before meal times can be elongate, products to be taken at meal times can be circular, and products to be taken after meal times can be triangular. In this way, the invention helps patients take the medication correctly, such that patients will longer be able to self-medicate and will not be reliant on inpatient care.

  • Publication number: 20100072104
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed toward blister packaging for the temporary storage of products, specifically medicaments, as well as methods for temporarily storing medicaments in blister packaging. The blister packaging includes a number of receiving compartments that are covered by a two-layer film for at least one product unit in each case. Perforated sections in one of the film layers include a tear-open line when a mechanical force is applied to the film, via the product unit. One of the film layers provides an impermeable layer while the second layer prevents unintended opening.

  • Patent number: 7637079
Abstract: An installation for filling weekly blister packs, i.e. packaging units, with doses of different medicaments corresponding to the weekly requirements of several patients and to be taken by the respective patient in a certain order according to the day of the week and the time of the day, according to a doctor's prescription. The installation is provided with output stations associated with the medicaments, for automatically filling all or selected compartments line-by-line. In order to control the output stations in such a way as to fill the weekly blister pack with the prescribed medicament, an electronic control unit processes information about patients, the information being continuously supplied to the unit in such a way that it is synchronized with the blister pack advancing movements.

  • Publication number: 20080190076
Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for filling weekly blister packs, i.e. packaging units (11), with doses of different medicaments corresponding to the weekly requirements of several patients and to be taken by the respective patient in a certain order according to the day of the week and the time of the day, according to a doctor's prescription. Said installation is provided with output stations (19) associates with the medicaments, for automatically filling all or selected compartments (12) line-by-line. A longitudinal transport device (14) is used to sequentially transport the weekly blister packs to the output stations (16) that are individually associated with the different medicaments. The medicament doses are supplied to the output stations by means of transversal transport devices (17) individually associated with the medicaments.
