  • Patent number: 4759842
Abstract: The in-line fuel filter device is readily installable in the fuel line of a liquid fuel-supplied engine. Thus, it is useful to filter fuels such as gasoline, diesel, oil, etc. and includes a generally closed, preferably cylindrical casing having a pair of opposed inlet and outlet-bearing endwalls interconnected, preferably releasably interconnected, by preferably transparent sidewalls. The casing defines a central filtering space accessible through the inlet and outlet. A preferably cylindrical particle filter is held by an interior bracket spaced from the casing sidewall with one end thereof surrounding and sealed against the outlet, while the filter is spaced from the inlet. A plate closes the opposite end of the filter and is secured to a bar passing longitudinally through the casing and filter releasably threadably secured to ferrules extending outwardly from the casing endwalls, so that the casing is readily openable.

  • Patent number: 4322122
Abstract: An improved cigarette lighter plug assembly is provided. The assembly is adapted to obtain current from a vehicle's electrical system through a cigarette lighter for operating remote electrical devices and the like. The assembly comprises, in combination, a hollow cylindrical plug body formed of two releasably joined halves within which is disposed a fuse retainer having a typical automotive glass fuse bearing a metal cap at each end. A first spring contact in the plug body biases the front end of the fuse retainer out the open front end of the plug and the front end of the fuse forward of the fuse retainer so that the fuse can directly contact an electrical terminal in the inner end of a cigarette lighter receptacle. Suitable detents in the plug body and fuse retainer prevent forward escape of the fuse retainer and fuse from the assembly. A second spring contact extends out the side thereof for wedging contact with a second electrical terminal in the sidewall of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4317468
Abstract: An air compressor having a main pressure line connected to an object to be inflated and an accumulator connected to the main pressure line through a restrictor to receive an average of the output pressure during the pumping stroke and to receive, at other times, the actual object pressure so that the pressure in the accumulator corresponds to the pressure in the object, and a relief valve responsive to the pressure in the accumulator for connecting the accumulation to atmosphere when a pressure preselected by a regulator is obtained in the object.

  • Patent number: 4279355
Abstract: The container comprises an open-topped cylindrical container body having a pair of tabs on the upper end of the outside, and a removable cylindrical resilient cap, having a sidewall with vertical grooves on the inside matching the tabs in location, but closer together diametrically than are the tabs. The cap is deformable to accommodate the tabs. The sidewall also has a pair of about horizontal arcuate grooves extending from the vertical grooves larger diametrically than the vertical grooves to receive the tabs. The horizontal grooves may narrow as they diverge from the vertical grooves. The cap cannot be removed from the container body without first rotating the cap to free the wedged tabs, then ovaling the cap to allow the cap to be rotated to a position where the vertical grooves and tabs are aligned, whereupon the cap can be lifted off the container body.

  • Patent number: 4096441
Abstract: The herein disclosed test instrument includes an arrangement for measuring the standing wave ratio of a transmitter, antenna combination which comprises a printed circuit board having a first conductive path thereon adapted for connection in series with the energy flowing between a transmitter and its associated antenna, a second conductive path contiguously disposed on the printed circuit board such that energy is electro-magnetically coupled from the first to the second conductive paths; circuit means for sequentially measuring the energy flowing in opposite directions along the second conductive path; and meter means for displaying the ratio of the measured energy. The test instrument further includes a circuit for measuring the transmitter's output power wherein the "loading" of the metering circuit on the transmitter is substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4085611
Abstract: A recording compression testing meter having a measuring cylinder connected to the spark-plug hole of an engine cylinder by means of a tube and having an indicator arm movable by the piston of the measuring cylinder over a portion of recording paper fed from a roll of paper carried in a removable cartridge, the paper being fed from the roll by a drive mechanism carried by the cartridge so that tests of a large number of cylinders can be recorded on the continuous sheet of recording paper fed from the paper roll before it is necessary to reload the meter and the test of the cylinders of each engine can be torn off and stored separately.
