  • Patent number: 7572444
Abstract: Binding proteins, such as fully human monoclonal antibodies and fragments thereof, directed to the antigen Matriptase and uses of such binding proteins are disclosed. Nucleotide sequences encoding, and amino acid sequences comprising heavy and light chain immunoglobulin molecules capable of binding to Matriptase are also disclosed. The invention also discloses cell lines expressing such immunoglobulin molecules and monoclonal antibodies to Matriptase. The antibodies can be used to detect, prevent, and treat diseases such as cancer.

  • Publication number: 20070093443
Abstract: Provided are methods for and compounds for modulating the complement system. In particular, compounds are provided that inhibit complement activation and compounds are provided that promote complement activation. The compounds are therapeutics by virtue of their effects on the complement system. Hence, the compounds that inhibit complement activation can be used for treatment of ischemic and reperfusion disorders, including myocardial infarction and stroke, sepsis, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and diseases with an inflammatory component, including Alzheimer's Disease and other neurodegenerative disorder.

  • Publication number: 20050164945
Abstract: The disclosure describes compounds that can include a peptide or Kunitz domain that binds endotheliase 1 (ET1). The compounds can be used, e.g., to reduce angiogenesis in a subject having or at risk for a neoplastic disorder, modulate the activity of an ET1-expressing cell, modulate proteolysis of a biological structure, detect endotheliase activity or protein in a sample, and detect ET1 protein in a subjects.

  • Publication number: 20050112579
Abstract: Provided herein are serine proteases designated CVSP16. CVSP16 polypeptides exhibit protease activity as a single chain or as a multi-chain form. Methods using the polypeptides to identify compounds that modulate the protease activity thereof are provided. The polypeptides also serve as tumor markers.

  • Patent number: 4064592
Abstract: Wheels for movement along a floor-mounted track at the bottom of a sliding door are shown supported within U-shaped members which are pivotally coupled to brackets secured to the lower edge of the door. The wheels are prevented from being dislodged from the track via retainer elements, each of which is a channel element having an elongated opening in its web and inturned flange terminations at the edges of its walls. An integral plate extends from one side of the channel and is pivotally mounted on the pin or stub shaft extending through the wheel and U-shaped member. The retainer element is significantly longer than the diameter of the wheel, and the flange terminations are snapped over the track and in interference relation with lips of the track. The wheel at its lower portion extends through the opening in the retainer element and rides on the track.
