  • Patent number: 5439490
Abstract: There are disclosed a method and a device with which growing points can be cut out of a plant by means of a laser source. The plant is present on carrying means thereby, said carrying means comprising tubes, through which the plant is sucked onto the end face of the carrying means. After the laser source has been switched on the plant is manipulated by means of an XY-table, during which operation the switched-on laser is led along the successive circumferences of bounded areas, within which the growing points are present. The bounded areas have been determined on the basis of the image which is obtained after the contours of the image recorded by image recording means have been determined. When three contour branches intersect the circumference of a bounded area, it is assumed that no growing point is present within said area.
