Abstract: A suspension arrangement for the wheels of vehicles comprising links (1 & 2), of equal pivotal length rotatably attached to the chassis or body at one end, at upper and lower chassis attachment points (3 & 4), and an axle support link (7), locating a wheel axle (8), at one end and attached at its other ends (5 & 6) to the opposite ends of the links (1 & 2). The spacing between attachments (3 & 4) is double that between (5 & 6) and the centre distance between the axle and its link attachment points is the same as the pivotal length of links (1 & 2). The geometry of said arrangement constrains the movement of the axle/wheel rectilinearly between the chassis attachment points and the angular displacement of the axle support link focuses to an axis (10), exhibiting slight rectilinear displacement.

Abstract: A wrist restraining device for restraining a person uses two strap element defined wrist enclosing loops and wherein strap lengths extend from the loops and are joined such as to define a U-shaped stiffened bight configuration with the bight facing a cinch bar used to tighten the loops. With tightening of the loops, the bight enlarges to a larger shaped configuration that serves as a handle locating distant from the person's restrained wrists and hands so that an officer can grasp the handle and use it as a control for controlling the person's movement without unnecessarily exposing the officer to the restrained person's hands. Structure to minimize pressure imposed on the person's wrists with the device is included in the device. A kit is provided for assembling the device from components representing the several elements of the device.

Abstract: A boiler in which the combustion unit includes a fluidized bed which may be fluidized in a non-uniform manner to effect circulation of the bed material. Heat exchange takes place between the combustion products and working fluid located in tubes located above the fluidized bed and also, optionally, within the fluidized bed.

Abstract: A method of disposing of waste products from the chemical process industries, especially as a result of the re-refining of oils. The waste products are burnt in a fluidized bed in which the bed material is fluidized in a non-uniform to effect circulation thereof so as to complete combustion at such a low temperature that the formation of sulphur trioxide and the volatilization of metals is avoided.
